Article says she had a learner's permit. What the hell is she doing on 580 unsupervised at 11pm? Stupidity doesn't require alcohol.

End result - 2 dead bodies, an unborn child, and a kid without his mom. All because some dumbass wasn't paying attention. Like I said, I hope she burns.

That's because for the most part we know how to drive, and hell people come here to ask HOW to drive. We here want to better ourselves and be productive. Of course we make mistakes, but when most of the people here make a mistake the only thing that ends up dead is a computer part.

and if you were driving along, didn't see someone in your blind spot, and caused a fatal pileup, you should 'burn' as well? trust me i'm not saying she is innocent or should walk away from this. but i am saying that it could have happened to anyone of us

I really hope it *could not* have happened to any one of us. I hope people on this forum have enough common sense to keep their eyes on the road. Honestly, what kind of moron turns completely around to have a chat while driving? I hope she burns too.

shows you how quickly your life can come to an end... you're driving along in your lane and suddenly you get sideswiped. Your life, your wife, your son... gone in an instant. Was never even your fault.

Inexperienced drivers tend to turn the wheel when they turn their head (she turned to the backseat in this case)... such a s#it way for some other family/friends to die.

That girl needs to learn to drive and be an adult. She made a mistake for not concentrating on the road and she needs to pay for her mistake. I hope this will be a lesson for those people who talk on the phone and drive at the same time.

How? You hope someone dies for making a rookie mistake at driving. Yes, the mistake had devestating results, but its not liek she pulled out a gun and shot them out of malice, it was a car accident.

as far as im concerned, what she did was just as bad drunk driving. she obviously doesnt know how to drive safely (she didnt even have a license), and yet she got on the road anyway, and was speeding to boot. in both cases the driver neglects to respect the power and danger of driving an auto and puts other drivers at a needless risk due to their own lack of judgement and stupidity.

She could face a third manslaughter charge when it is determined how far along Grable's pregnancy was.

i dont understand how they could charge her when abortion is legal. i know they can and its been done before, but i dont see the reasoning behind it other than to pad a DAs stats. the end result is the same whether by abortion or manslaughter.

I'm with Deeko on this one. She had an accident and it happens all the time. The major problem was that she only had a permit and not a real license, but other than that, people are distracted all the time. Not everyone who causes and accident should "burn" for it. And I'm sure when you drive you have your hands on 2 & 10 with the radio off, cell phone tucked away and never break eye contact with the road. I'm only surprised there aren't more accidents on the roads. Plus us "Duke" icon guys gotta stick together.

The end result is the same - death of the baby. The difference between manslaughter and abortion is one is voluntary, the other is not. Get it? If I punched your pregnant wife so hard your baby died, I just committed abortion and not manslaughter?

yah, i understand that. but its never voluntary for the unborn. so if they have "rights" in this case(can be killed and thus the killer would be prosecuted for the deed, just like someone who has been born), i dont understand why they dont have rights in abortion cases. just because its the mother dealing the death? i know its her body, etc. it just doesnt make rational sense to me. if the unborn has rights, then they have them. if not, they dont.

People have every right IMO to be angry and upset by these incidents. Every day, we drive on our highways surrounded by 2-ton hunks of steel whose drivers foolishly and/or arrogantly think they are under no obligation to actually pay attention to the road around them. Talking on their cell phones, distracted by passengers, weaving in and out of lanes without signalling, blocking the flow of traffic on highways while running red lights and stop signs in the city. They are worse than any speeder, and every bit as bad as a drunk driver.
