My car was impouded at the scene. I don't know how it worked i didn't argue i plead no contest.

If you plea no contest then there wouldn't have been a trial to "not find you guilty of anything but not having insurance"

That wasn't an accident. She was driving illegally in the first place that makes their deaths a crime. When you violate the law and someone dies as a direct result of that you have in fact committed murder. Turning around to talk to someone in the back seat while a dumb ass move is still a stupid mistake. Driving in violation of the terms of your driving permit is a crime.

Driving past the curfew time or without adult supervision on a learners permit is not a felony. Causing a fatal accident, even if due to negligence, is not murder. It is at worst, manslaughter. But unless the girl was doing something dangerously negligent (and I don't think turning your head for a second to look in the back seat counts) this is just an unfortunate accident.

A new driver who is restricted to not be out past dark or whatever - and goes out anyway, should be considered negligent IMHO.
