In an attempt to honor President Abraham Lincoln, the Jacob Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies at Northeastern Illinois University displayed a plague for the 16th President. But the display features one glaring error

This building is dedicated to public service honoring the memory of Abraham Lincoln Democrat,” the plague reads.

President Lincoln, though, was not a Democrat, but a Republican.

bwhahahhah oops. i just question how they could make such a error. wow

I highlighted the answer to your question there.

Well the parties from 150 years ago bear so little resemblance to the parties of the same name from today. I think most Presidents from then would not identify with either party.

Wow, they're doing quite a job desecrating the history of Lincoln!!! 😱

Considering the parties have completely flipped several times since then, him being a republican then is about as far from being a republican today as it gets.

Hush, democrats hate it when you remind them it was republicans who dragged them kicking and screaming to end slavery.

LOL! That is just beyond stupid. But also indicative of how society as a whole (and definitely on the liberal/Democrat side) is on a fast-track to complete Idiocracy.

lol, Fox does it...repeatedly, seemingly always during times hard for the GOTP and it's --- "meh, just a mistake, big deal, they're human, move on nothing to see here etc etc"

But if a University does it -- "Holy shit! What a bunch of stupid inner city liberals!"

Too funny.

Next thing you know one of those damned liberals will make a typo in a newsletter somewhere, AT A UNIVERSITY EVEN! Imagine!

I mean, I'm sure it was a full committee of ~liberal professors~ conspiring to support the Democratic party, rather than some assistant clerk at the university's VP's office who put in an order form for a plaque without double-checking everything. That's way, way more likely, and this is clearly a BIG representation of a big issue.

Yeah, an error typed on an overlay flashed on a screen is the same thing as a permanent plaque that multiple people had to approve, agree on the message, make, and put up on display with apparently not one of them bright enough to spot the obvious glaring error.

Totally the same things!

What's too funny is liberals that aren't themselves much brighter than the people that did this trying to make idiotic excuses for it rather than just go, "yeah, that's pretty dumb."

But then again, like I say, Idiocracy. We're not 500 years from it, that's for sure. More like 50 or less.
