I think it is funny that congressmen are canceling meetings for fear of them turning violent...

...The only violence I am aware of is that by the SEIU.

Are you all really that simple?

Because the Democrats have already said they arent going to debate UHC, that it has been debated enough. One even had the gall to say, what is the point of reading a 1000 page bill.

Let me get this straight.

Right wing organization encourages its followers to disrupt and generally be big pains in the ass at Democratic led town hall meetings, and that's free speech.

Left wing organization encourages its followers to do something to counter the disrupters and ass-pains, and that's shutting up voters who dare question the fearless leader. If you can't win unless you stop the other guy from talking at all, you essentially are disrupting the democratic process.

You can use Ann Coulter to an extent as an example. Im no fan of her by any means, but she has the right to get her word out. If the people shouting and heckling during her speech had waited until the question period at the end, and asked questions or offered critiques of her speech during that period. What they did instead, though, was simply to yell out "fascist" and other equally-useless epithets in an attempt to drown out her speech.

Heckling Ann Coulter (or Michael Moore, for that matter) is not the same as interfering with a representative attempting to communicate with his or her constituents. In the first case you're interfering with essentially an entertainer espousing a political viewpoint, in the second you're monkey-wrenching the democratic process. Code Pink interfering with governmental proceedings such as hearings is a better example.

You hypocritical reactionaries are comedy gold..

The problem is most of the people showing up to town halls ARENT members of right wing orgs.

Theres a difference between saying stuff and using violence.

The Dems are going to fall from absolute power faster the the GOP did.

Polls show the American Public doesnt support Congresses' UHC plan.
They also show they dont support how Congress has handled it(trying to rush it through), or how Obama has handled it.

No, that's called assault (the topic of this thread), and that is a CRIME. You silly liberals justifying criminal behavior is comedy gold.

Ah well done, you've given ONE example of ONE person who MAY BE a paid plant and have projected that onto the entire grass root smovement.
Well done.

Need more? Can do.

FreedomWorks which is chaired by Dick Armey has this guy on their board. He's the founder of Cancer Treatment Centers of America, a for profit network of cancer treatment hospitals.

How about Conservatives for Patients' Rights which was founded by this guy who also founded the Columbia Hospital Corporation and co-founded the Solantic Corporation a network of walk-in clinics.

Also, we're not talking about a single person being a plant. I'm pointing out the people behind the "grassroots" movement. You know, the people organizing the busing and talking points.

Meeting, btw, on informing people about reform.
THe republicans Rush - Lball crowds are using the very same tactics as they did to
stop the 2000 presidential recount in florida. Rich white guys paid to throw a tissy fit.
All show... All put on...

I don't know any of these people so I can't be certain but I highly doubt its rich white folk who are being paid to disrupt town hall meetings. Rich folk are rather expensive and they are usually busy at work.

Glen Back says: "don't be violent, but be heard." and the news media labels him as a radical and says he is instigating violence.

Obama says: "hit back twice as hard" and the SEIU actually his people and the news media is silent.

Here is a new video of an SEIU member smashing a cell phone camera into a woman's face
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwxf_2GFOBc

I think Obama might have "acted stupidly"......but that might just be me....buyer beware.

It was the same group of union idiots from the first video minutes after that one took place. Try being honest.

How was my post not honest? Different assault, different person being assaulted.

Where did I say that it was at a different event? It doesn't matter where it was, it happened.

Everyone attending one of these Town halls should be fitted with a shock collar, get out of hand and ZAAAAP:Q

Of course then they would resemble a pentacostal revival meeting with people writhing around on the floor speaking in tongues:)

King Pin gave us being Munsoned, the GOP has given us being Todded, as in Ashely Todd. When people won't buy the bullshit you are trying to peddle and you keep losing elections, make some shit up and try to incite a class/race war. You fucks deserve your fates.

Hey look, another right winger that thinks repeately shouting and screaming conspiracy bullshit to disrupt a public meeting is free speech:confused:

For you guys free speech is a one way street, when its your ideas it's free speech. But when an alternative viewpoint is being expressed it's to be shouted down and drowned out by disturbing the peace

Interesting, got this email from the Obama crew, trying to sic followers on republican congressmen. Apparently THEY are being assaulted  Guess his crew missed the St. Louis piece

So we've cooked up an easy, powerful way for you to make a big impression: Office Visits for Health Reform.

All this week, OFA members like you will be stopping by local congressional offices to show our support for insurance reform. You can have a quick conversation with the local staff, tell your personal story, or even just drop off a customized flyer and say that reform matters to you....

As you've probably seen in the news, special interest attack groups are stirring up partisan mobs with lies about health reform, and it's getting ugly. Across the country, members of Congress who support reform are being shouted down, physically assaulted, hung in effigy, and receiving death threats. We can't let extremists hijack this debate, or confuse Congress about where the people stand.

I'm game if you are. What's the next town hall you plan on attending?

Any in Chicago soon?
Dave, I live in Chicago now. Want to go out for a ? See if that gets you the liquid courage to get militant on me?
