Democratic mayors have no part in making the laws or setting conditions on pre-trial release. The magistrate followed the laws that the GOP set for pre-trial release conditions on a charge that was essentially a prank 911 phone call.

The only other option she had was to release him to a mental health facility—but they’d have to agree to take him and there’s no guarantee he’d be committed all the way from January to August. If you don’t know what’s happening with hospitals and clinics in NC, they’re underfunded and shutting down because the GOP keeps blocking Medicaid expansion soon etc.

Reminds me of the psycho quite a while back now who beheaded and then started to eat a person on a bus here in Canada. He got 10 years, he's out now. People like that should get a life sentence or death penalty. They cannot be trusted in society, as they might just do it again.
