does anyone know if you order the fight will it be in hdtv?

UFC 60 wasn't, so I doubt 61 will be...I keep hoping they'll switch over soon, as I'd imagine most of their main demographic has moved onto a newer HD set...but who knows.

I'm just looking forward to the Sylvia/Arlovski match...got about 5 or 6 guys coming over for it.

You never know until the fight happens. You might have a guy who is 10x better than the other guy, but if the other guy executes a better fight, he can still win. That's the uncertainty of a sport where it's not best out of 7. If it were, you'd see for sure who the better fighter is on average.

I think that a lot of the kids on this forum are clueless when it comes to age. They're still kids, and they can identify with young punkasses like themselves. Ken is not too old to fight. Seriously, look at the shape he's in right now, then look at yourself. If you can honestly say that you look better than this, then you're the man.

What does our shape have anything to do with it? Ken's not fighting us, or a regular bloke on the street. He's fighting what are arguably the best regulation fighters in the world. He'd be able to put anyone on this board into a hospital in probably 30 seconds flat, but he's not competing against us.

I'm sure recently retired baseball, football, or basketball players would be able to "beat" almost any normal joe in the world at their sport. But they're too old to effectively compete with the best, which is the situation Shamrock is in.

As far as the best out of 7, many people have already made mention of the fact that Tito could get caught, which would give Shamrock the win. Like you said, it happens when there's not a "best of" situation.

It just bugs me when I see forum threads come up, and all these out of shape, pimple face, unathletic dweebs make negative comments about anything that isn't in their small circle of "cool" things, which are usually pretty lame.

Hasn't ATOT always been like with almost every subject?

Is Ken Shamrock a "has been" and is washed up?

What is everyone's take on this fight Saturday night??

wasnt ken in ufc1 or something like that 15+ yrs ago?!

it looks like he's following in the footsteps of mike tyson.

Hmm, you have a point there...

the issue with ken isn't age or shape.. obviously he's ripped, but he's been known to gas if the fight goes the distance. also, it just doesn't seem like he's evolved as a fighter as much as everyone else has. he'd have done much better if he followed his brother's example and become more well-rounded.

Tito would still beat Shamrock if he was in his prime. Just an all around much better fighter.

your kidding right?

these guys today are spoon fed.

1 fight and thats all. look at the past it was tourny elim style so you would fight many peeps in 1 nite. plus it was bare knuckles.

it was a lot more violent back then too. there are things you can't do now (elbows to the skull?) that you could back then.

True, but the fighters today are way better than they were back then. hardly anyone back then new jiu jitsu or grappling. And most of the guys were like street fighters. Now you can't get anywhere close to being on top without being a well rounded fighter. Except Tim Silvia, lol since UFC's HW division is weak.

i watched the replay of the first match yesterday, at a few points i felt bad for ken. he got pretty beat up but he was like the dog that just doesn't know when it's beat and keeps fighting anyway. props to him for toughing it out, but he got a beating.

The fighiting should be on now. Can somebody keep us informed of the fights results? I can't watch the fights because I am to cheep to pay the $40.00 pay per view fee.

SPOILER

tito in the first round eh? damn! i figured ken would at least put up a fight. doesn't sound like it tho.

WORST FVCKING STOPPAGE EVER. WTF was that bullsh!t? Herb Dean of all refs calling that? I wanted Tito to destroy Ken and this was bullsh!t. I will never watch UFC again. Completely 100% rigged. There's no way that was a stoppage.

rigged would have gone the other way to continue the story line and force a tie breaker.

They are going to fight a third time. We've already heard that.

I'm a very big fan of Tito, however, I think the stoppage was crap. It is likely Tito was going to win anyway (I thought so) but it was a crap stoppage.

Fight #7 - Light Heavyweight Bout
Tito Ortiz (206 lbs) vs. Ken Shamrock (206 lbs)

Ortiz picks Shamrock up and slams him down. Shamrock in guard. Ortiz moves Shamrock against the cage. Ortiz with 6 to 7 unanswered elbows and referee Herb Dean stops the fight. Shamrock gets up in disbelief as Ortiz celebrates by doing his gravedigging routine.

Ortiz wins by TKO in the first round.

Glad I didn't waste my money for this....torrrents FTW!
