he was bitten by a radioactive spider.
he has super agility, and spider sense.
hense his nickname Anderson 'spider' Silva.
Ill believe you when I see him wrapping his victims in a cocoon and grows 2 or 3 more pairs of eyes.

While he (obviously) does not have the skills to really challenge Silva, he certainly brought the fight to him. Which is more than plenty of other opponents have done. What a joke of a fight. Bonnar brought nothing.

He did..But what was his strategy to win? Silva stood there on the fence, with his hands down, just BEGGING him to come in close. I'm not sure Bonnar could win no matter what he did, but standing there trying to knock his head off wasn't working out. Could have gone in there with 1-2 punches to get Silv'as eyes up, then dropped for a single or a double.. At least get some points, maybe work a ground and pound.
I hate ju jitsu and wrestling, I love stand up fighters like Anderson Silva and even Erik Silva but I thought the most impressive fight last night was Fitch dominating Erik Silva. And to think that GSP dominated Fitch just shows what level GSP used to be and hopefully still is.
If Chael Sonnen can win 6 rounds in a row (except a little triangle sub) against Silva I believe that GSP would stand a good chance. He won't make stupid mistakes like Sonnen in his 7th round against Silva.
Silva seemed way too cocky imo. How do you have your hands down the entire time.
He got Son'd by fitch big time. What's surprising was Fitch was able to withstand that choke.
I agree, Silva is way too cocky, but he gets away with it.
Unbelievable how he stood there and fought Bonners fight and still crushed as usual.
I really don't care for Silva's attitude/disrespect for other fighters, and would love to see him pay for the cockiness.
I'm just not sure who in the UFCs current lineup can do something about it.
Maybe Joe is right and Bones could have something for Silva.
I'm gonna enjoy the day Silva gets beat and has that look of disbelief in his eyes.
Its ok to be the best at what you do, but lack of respect for others is inexcusable IMO.
Boy you nailed that right on the head.:thumbsup:NOBODY can knock his skill. his maturity though?
You call it cocky, I call it winning psychology. Ever hear Forrest talk about their fight? He mentions how Anderson just stood there with a look on his face that said "Did you really think you were going to hit me just now?" Nothing will steal your spirit faster than getting toyed with. Particularly when you are having it done while you are bringing your A game. Foremen talked about How Ali leaned on him and said in his ear 'Is that all you got George?" George said he thought to himself "Yep, that's about it." and he knew it was over for him.Boy you nailed that right on the head.:thumbsup:
I think what surprised me more than anything in this fight was his strength, with him allowing a way bigger Bonner to clinch against the cage, i thought he'd pay for sure.
But Anderson proved his strength as well as his great takedown defense that we've already seen many times.
I still don't think he's "dialed down" the cockiness enough to convert any haters though.
As you so rightly put it, his immaturity is as unmatched as his skills.
i know that MMA fighter don't train knees atacks much... is hard to land, you lose your balance...
but damm, Spider knee atack was just devasting, a very fast atack...

They do absolutely train knees, they need to just be far more cautious when utilizing them because you are off balance. Same goes for kicks. The guys who utilize them the most are usually able to due to people worrying about how slick their ground game is.
of course they train, but it seems that they don't invest much time on it...
Spider knee was the first in a long time that was quick, fast ... like any atack should be...
most of the time i see a slow atack, that barely hurts
Having someone break your confidence down in a competition sucks. It is part of his game. It is part of his winning strategy. This is part of what makes him a champion.
