wow. what a dominating perfomance. GSP won every round.

gotta give kosh credit he is one tough motherfucker.

Great job GSP, that was one great class on "how to shut up a douchebag."

Exciting? Debatable. Embarrassing? Oh yeah. 😀

And say what you will about Kos...he was never physically out of it. Still couldn't be held down even at the end of the fight. Too bad his eye looks like a pre-grill burger.

Yea, I wish GSP would have finished him. But, it was a one-sided fight. GSP just picked Kos apart.

Doesn't matter. It was still 25 minutes of borefest. Everytime I hear about a GSP fight, it always ends in a decision. He always plays it safe. GSP got the win but he drives away viewers (except for Canadians). He should change his nickname from Rush to Boring.

..lol

true he didn't ko him. he just fucking gave kos a 25 minute ass kicking. fucked up his eye and made a highly accomplished MMA fighter look like a amateur.

GSP still can't do what great fighters can do - Jose Aldo, Shogun, Fedor finish fights. Shogun and Fedor don't even cut weight, they fight at their natural weight and I doubt Aldo cuts much weight as well. GSP walks in around 200-210 lbs and fights at friggin' 170 lbs...

Hell, Anderson Silva finishes fights way more often. GSP couldn't even finish a blind guy in 23~esque minutes - that is not greatness. And Koscheck is far from being an elite striker, all the more GSP should've tried to finish it.

Someone who is great would have easily finished Koscheck. Shogun just finished the former #1 LHW in devastating fashion and Fedor has absolutely demolished the #2/#3 HWs at the time.

GSP is the best WW of all time, but will never reach the pinnacle of the most elite fighters that includes guys I've mentioned and I will not count him as a top p4p / top elite fighter until he fights people his size or larger and finishes them in devastating fashion instead of playing it safe the Greg Jackson way with decisions.

Picked 3 of the final 4. Woot.

I thought it was a good fight. I also echo the sentiments of a few that it pretty much back up that Koschek is one tough SOB. Was pretty much outclassed in fighting, but you can't take away his heart I guess.

True but he didn't really do anything in this fight. I don't think there was one moment were he actually did anything significant to GSP. It was COMPLETELY one-sided ...and boring. Jabbed to death. The Khan/Maidana fight was way more exciting.

Fight time weight for GSP is ~185.

Also, most fights that receive votes for fight of the year (FOTY) generally end in decisions. The "Korean Zombie" vs Leonard Garcia is in the running for FOTY for 2010 and it ended in a split decision.

I was hoping GSP could finish Kos, but I think his best chances for doing that were via sub, and he wasn't able to keep Kos on the ground long enough to mount any offense there. Give credit to Kos' elite-level wrestling for that though, not a GSP deficiency.

In the case of Fedor, and Aldo finishing fights... look at who they have fought. Fedor twice wasn't able to finish Big Nog when they were both in their primes. He didn't finish Cro Cop. Aldo didn't finish Faber, though he had 5 rounds to do it. He destroyed his legs, but didn't finish him. Most of his other stoppages were against mediocre fighters. Of the 3 stoppages Shogun has in the UFC, 2 of them were against washed up fighters (Liddell and Coleman).

GSP is incredibly well rounded. Most fighters that finish fights consistently excel in one area, and are adequate in others. The only area that GSP excels in is wrestling, but that alone won't finish a fight. Plus, the 170 lb division is one of the deepest divisions in MMA, so there are no "easy" opponents (except Dan Hardy). Also, the 170 lb division is chock full of some of the best wrestlers in MMA, so the fact that GSP is at the pinnacle of that division, without having the amateur wrestling pedigree that the majority of his opponents have, says a LOT about his talent.

yeah my respect for kos went up after the fight. that is one bad dude. tough as shit and great wrestling. i knew he was a good wrestler but better then most when it comes to GSP. he just needs better standup and learn to do something about that jab..
