If GSP can do this to Jake Shields I'd be impressed. I wasn't ever impressed with his BJ penn wins because he vastly outsizes BJ.

Fedor needs to get the respect he deserves.
Then he needs to fight somebody. Fedor is a good fighter but his better days have passed. He barely escaped the fight with Brett Rogers and was submitted by Werdum in the first round. He dodges fighting in the UFC and has also been dodging a fight with Overeem. He'll have my respect whenever he decides he'd like to be more than a freakshow that fights circus acts like the 8ft tall Korean guy he fought.

I never said GSP was greater than Fedor. I will say GSP is dominant.

To use a basketball analogy, casual basketball fans love watching the Suns, as do I. Casual basketball fans think the Spurs are boring, but I love watching them dominate. I would take the Spurs as my team over the Suns any day. Fast breaks are exciting, winning more so.

When a guy consistently wins, and shows he can't be beat, that is greatness. You might not like the tactics he employs, but if it isn't greatness he should be vulnerable to defeat. What opponents is he dodging? What decisions were controversial? If you're going to make an argument that he isn't (one of) the best, you should at least have SOMETHING to bring to the table other than 'he's boring to watch', or 'he didn't win the way I think he should'.

He wins, and if he's not the best in his class, someone should step up and beat him.

I'd love to see Lesnar v. Fedor. I doubt that will ever happen, however.

Fedor has fought more top 10 HWs in the last 2-3 years than any HW period.

Lesnar doesn't deserve this fight. He hasn't beaten anyone noteworthy and doesn't have the skill caliber to even remotely be in the same league.

Cain vs Fedor or JDS vs Fedor or Overeem vs Fedor is the best fight that can happen.

Sherdog type MMA fans are mostly retarded and also hypocrites. The majority will say Fedor is the GOAT and doesn't have to fight anyone because of his past accomplishments. But these same idiots will turn around and say Mayweather's a chicken because he won't fight Pacman. What I've learned from the time I spent on SD's forums, besides people are idiots. Is that Fedor is exempt from everything every other fighter is subject to.

I will say I find GSP boring, but he controls his fights no doubt about it, I don't care what the fuck Woosta says, which I don't know because I have him on ignore. GSP is a great fighter and Koscheck is too, that's what makes what happened to Josh so amazing. Anyone who discredits Koscheck's fighting level is a moron. Dude's still one of the best in the UFC, that just shows you how dominate Georges is.

Besides one guy (Woosta) I believe all of AT forums acknowledges that GSP is one of the all time greats.

GSP is the WW Goat, and after he retires I'm sure he'll be one of the best to ever do it, but he does not surpass Shogun or Fedor in greatness.

Or you're afraid of what might happen.

There are better matchups that can happen, with more skillful opponents. Would I pay to see Fedor vs Lesnar? Definitely.

Would I bet the house on Fedor? Definitely.

But, it would be Tim Sylvia all over again.

Here's the thing. Let's say Fedor demolishes Brock.. that means Brock was a nobody, yet another can. A guy from WWE. Fedor is so dominant that everyone he beats loses their soul and goes on losing streaks, are labeled cans, etc.

If Fedor would have demolished Brock people would say he's dodging Cain. If Cain drops the belt and joins SF, fights Fedor and gets beat then he was a nobody, just a "former" UFC HW champ. If JDS did the same thing, dropped the title to fight Fedor and if he lost he'd also be another former UFC HW.

Fedor is a constant. The current UFC HW Champion is *always* compared to Fedor. Fedor never changes. The next UFC HW Champion will always be compared to Fedor. He's basically the Rocky Marciano of this shit, except greater.

This.

Just like Floyd Mayweather. Casual boxing fans don't like to watch him fight (I do - he's unbelievably talented), they like to see Pacquiao, Tyson, etc. People who put on a show. However, there is no denying that Mayweather is greatness. Yes, he wins most of his fights by points, but so what - are you going to say he's not a good boxer? Defense wins championships, right?

I enjoy watching Mayweather, actually. GSP is an entirely different story.

People who think Mayweather's boring are stupid too, he's finished 25 of his 41 fights. People who act like all he does is dance around and throw a single jab here and there know nothing. Floyd could probably have finished 35 of his 41 fights but he likes to put on a show. I will say against Koscheck at least GSP did some damage instead of just trying to hold him down for 5 rounds.

Bernard Hopkins from several years back would be a better fighter to compare with GSP. Smart, dominant, ... kind of boring. Still impressive, IMO. Would rather watch GSP fight than most. If you think his lay and pray was boring, I wonder what you thought about some of the TUF winners (including the most recent one)...

Why don't you go back to kicking up bananas and almost hurting yourself doing it and when you gain some expertise on that, get back to us will you.

BJ is one of the greatest fighter ever. Did you see what hhe did to Diego?

Poor guy.

And that broken orbital bone on Kos, does that count for something?

You just like to spew nonsense.

GSP is STILL the champion and will be for a long time.

Shields is gonna beat GSP, Georges is great, but for whatever weird reason Jake always finds a way to win. Jake does just what GSP does but he does it better. GSP couldn't have beat Henderson. He's great at 170 but if he stepped up to 185 he would lose.

uh. no.

perhaps ex top HW's or past their prime HW's yeah.

Fedor is the TOP HW and arguably the top fighter ever. but damn really you need some reality. has has not faced the top 10 hw's consistently in the last few years.

this.

he is like a majority (won't say all. some good insightful post on sherdog) of posters from there. hell his post is damn near a copy/paste from most over there.

LOL before I blocked him on here, his frequent threads were turning ATOT into Sherdog Lite, I cannot stand that place, which is a shame because there were some legit MMA fans there who weren't the least bit biased. But the typical ones just made me run away for good.

Do you truly think Hendo was 100% in his fight vs Shields? He didn't even look like the same fighter I saw in the UFC. He made an excuse about being sick - whether you believe that or not, he wasn't what he should have been.

Shields squeaked out a win against Kampmann. Kampmann isn't even close to being in the same league as GSP. I'm the opposite of you - anything Shields can do, GSP can do better. You even admitted earlier - GSP controls his fights. Shields is a great fighter but I don't see it going his way. I will say - it is the most exciting and competitive match-up GSP will have had for a long time.

inside leg kick, jab, circle is not a genius strategy. gsp does not have that killer tenacity. first it was lnp, then wall and stall, and now jab and jog.

Jab and jog, are you kidding me, he was the aggressor. I'm willing to bet you are one of those GSP haters who before the fight claimed there was no way GSP would be willing stand with KOS. Then when GSP put on a boxing clinic you complain about that.

No. I was one of the ones that was disgusted with Josh Koscheck even being asked to fight again vs GSP.
