I don't hope for anyone to go through hard times. If it's gonna happen, hope it's a state that voted for it.

The electric mini-mills already won the war but it's ironic that ill considered measures meant to prop up the entire industry will end up quickly killing the integrated facilities that are left.

DONT PANIC!! ... Dont Panic!!!

RUSAL will pick them up.

Its all good.

That would be Evraz, a different Russian company. My nephew in law works for them in Pueblo, CO. They have several specialized mills in N America. The number of people employed is nothing compared to what it was prior to the 80's.

Problem being many of Trump's supporters are so well insulated and isolated from the real world they're going to be told and they will believe that as hard as Trump tried to MAGA the Dems obstructed his every move to do so while completely ignoring that vast wasteland of lies and meaningless unfulfilled promises he made to them and that overfilled swamp he said he was going to drain but instead re-stocked with the very worst corporate pirates that he said he was going to get rid of.

Trump only won by less that 100k votes, and MI was one of the swing States. It won't take much for reason to make a comeback IMO

He's only the master of the stupid.
Well he was "stupid" enough to get elected president. It is a big, big mistake if the democrats underestimate him or the support of his base, and think winning the election is a done deal.

Learned that in 2016. Not gonna do any more underestimating now that we all know just how gullible and foolish millions of folks can be.

Lesson being we didn't underestimate Trump as much we all underestimated how desperate, how racist, how anti-LGBT, how ultra-fundamentalist, how politically charged the church's efforts were, how intransigently gun loving and how emotionally dependent all of those folks were that put Trump in office.

Trump can't win on his base alone. There were a lot of people willing to roll the dice on Trump, the great deceiver. It'll be harder for him to fool 'em again. I figure a lot of midwest farmers will have trouble working up the enthusiasm to drive into town to vote for him again.

Yup I agree fuck them and

Fuck the farmers
Fuck the coal miners
Fuck Union guys

They literally voted for this. They got it.

They've been systematically propagandized & fucked by the GOP for decades. It's how they got so desperate that they'd vote for Trump. He captured their imaginations & convinced 'em that he really was different, that he actually gave a fuck about everyday Americans. There's got to be a lot of bitter disappointment in that. So let's not play the blame game. It just pushes 'em away.

Since the rights trickle down didn't work maybe the lefts gig economy where everyone is labeled an independent contractor with virtually limitless income potential can be used by the democrats to rally all those betrayed deplorables back in line.

Midterms show Dems the party of the elite, not the middle class

While it is great to campaign as a champion of the middle class, the reality of being the middle-class party with little elite support is more true for the GOP. The midterms make it clear that the Democrats control the commanding heights of American society.

Academia, high-technology, professional sports, the media and Hollywood are all fully dominated by the Democrats. And as the 2018 election shows, they are beginning to dominate the general business community and affluent professionals as well.

All in all, the middle-class GOP is startlingly bereft of institutional power centers that support the party. If the GOP can’t stem that tide by fundamentally developing a more positive relationship with some elements of the establishment, the blue wave figures to be a blue tsunami in the future.

So you want me to be sympathetic to the guys like 1prophet?

Sorry. Nope. Not gonna do it. If they want to come around, sure I'll begrudgingly welcome them. But I'm not going to waste my time and energy on this...

This line is a bunch of bullshit, as is the use of "elite" as a pejorative. If the "Dems" are the elite and are not in the middle class that they are not the party of, then where are they? Among the poor? The wealthy? Because those are pretty much the only places they can be hiding. If they are poor then they are pretty much without power in this country. If they are wealthy then where the fuck are they all? Soros and a few other wealthy people who lean democratic? If that's it then that's a fucking joke and a sad one at that because wealthy democrats are like blue moons. They happen but not often. There is not an "elite" class of Americans in our country except for the extremely wealthy, most of whom pay conservatives to spread the lie that the middle class has "elites: among them that despise them.

Then they loot our government and wallets while the middle class divides itself, lessening the chance that the middle class will unwrap their hands from each others throats and wrap them around the throats of the politicians, millionaire and billionaire bastards that are ripping us all off.

Divide and conquer, they can afford it because they have the money to do it.

Meanwhile, 200 people lose their jobs just so Trump and the GOP can fake a recession as an excuse to run up the printing presses right before the election. Yaknow, because liberal elites.

Is there anyone at the national level you agree with?
