Humans are biased. Can't really blame the media for that. What else are they supposed to do? They report on stuff that happens. They can only do so much with the limited information they have access to. The bottomline, we should all be getting our news from multiple sources. With the Internet you now have viewpoints from every country. Google News is a great way to get the NYC media view and the Karachi media view within 1 click of eachother.
Always remember to take any news that names anonymous sources as just that. The media is not a court of law. They are interested in one thing, selling more papers or getting more viewers.
The u.s. media reports on stuff that happens, but also has selective memory. this is why it is biased. for example, i found out Madlenine Albright made some comment on how the iraqi people deserved what they got back in 1991-92. it was briefly reported, then yanked, by cnn and other stations due to our govt.'s intervention. Oh yeah this is a democracy i forgot. god know how many other things have not been reported. in the past. it shows that the govt. clearly has the ability to hush up the media.
