There is no limit to the sheer idiocy of the progressive movement. Given the chance to accomplish it, the description for people that commit crimes will be solely "person". Stating the sex, approximate age, skin color, hair color, height, weight and clothing worn will all be forbidden.

My guess is that we will "progress" to all crime reports stating that the perpetrator was a Straight White Male. Because regardless of the race/gender of the perp, the crime would not have been committed had he not been oppressed by Straight White Males

Here's the point of accurate descriptions: what they physically look like.

For criminal descriptions, nobody CARES about affiliations, cultures, and ancestry. Does it walk like a duck? Quack like a duck? Call it a damn duck then.

White skin, brown short buzz hair, etc.

Black skin, tall, green eyes, athletic build... a description has to include race because, gasp, it's a physical descriptor. It's like not saying anything about eye or hair color.
People want to hold onto their cultural identity and ancestry, got it. But we also have to move beyond race even being something that matters. Where I stand, I'd rather have zero problem calling someone exactly what they look like - I don't want to be bothered by "dash American" (african-american, indian-american, chinese-american, etc) because it is absolutely useless and is rather incorrect as a physical description because there are so many variables. Skin color, eye color, hair color... can't they all be of equal weight?

We get about 2 or 3 police reports per week about crimes in and around campus--almost always theft from buildings or mugging.

Here is the description of every single suspect:

I was going to post something similar but I didn't feel like it was worth the effort.

The purpose of a APB is not to determine if a perp's is 1/3rd Cherokee Native American on his/her mom's side and Persian on his/her dad's side. An ABP's purpose is to give the best physical description of a possible suspect so that the public can help in identifying him/her in order to get them off the street.

So if you really want to make a argument against APB's then it should be that they should be more descriptive not less so that the actual perp is caught and innocent persons arrested or detained.
