Don't overestimate the value of your life. The world was here before you, it will be here after you're gone. Face it, you just aren't that important...none of us are.

And here I thought your kid needed you...

If I die in my cage, morn for me, because I absolutely did not want to die on a freakin commute!

I don't WANT to die. But I don't want to live my life afraid to try new things that may or may not kill me. Fuck, I've commuted by bicycle for years and thousands of miles and had many more close calls than I ever have on my motorcycle.

Better put that burger down! It clogs your arteries!

I love people who are afraid to fly... perfect landing then get creamed by a bus on the drive home :D

If that burger taste good for 70 years but takes 10 years off my life, I need to eat more. You can have the last 10 years of diapers and not being able to get my brittle ass into a sports car or see shit.

Life is only worth how much you enjoy in it, by not squandering away every last second in misery pretending you'll live forever.

I worked with a woman who was in her late 40s who was deathly afraid of flying. Honestly, with her, and I suspect a lot of people who are afraid to fly, it was entirely an issue of control. She had none of it and that's what she was really afraid of.

Me? I love flying...now the waiting around, the security, the hassle? That I could do without.

 Life is too short to play it safe all the time. I have friends who spend their weekends on the golf course. I've spent the last 2 decades of my life (in my free time) surfing, cycling, and riding my motorcycle. These things beat the fuck out of golf! I know, that's my opinion...;)

BTW-I see overweight people dropping dead in their late 30s/early 40s from heart disease, diabetes, etc. Maybe that burger wasn't such a good idea after all? :p

Gotta move once in a while... Burgers alone don't do that.

Big difference between being safe and accepting a remote and unavoidable risk, vs being careless and reckless though.

With all the shit I played with as a kid, I'm surprised I still have all my fingers. :awe:

Back on topic, this is why I'm careful around bikes and always make eye contact so they know I'm aware they are there.

Believe me, we notice it...and appreciate it.

if that's your best response to what I'm saying, good luck to your family.

Hey, death is a natural part of life. You go wrap yourself in a protective cocoon and live your sterile lifestyle and I'll live mine.

Christ, my wife doesn't give me as much grief about my hobbies as you do.

Hmm it was called for by the people living around it.

Could be profitable though (at the cost of the other taxpayers though).

You can actually sue for an ambulance not being "right there" when you needed it though...

I don't agree with any of it. I have had two major lawsuits on my lap to pursue. In one I did screw myself a bit agreeing to terms too early ($125k payout after expenses). My ex wife needed a second surgery that put her back in the hospital for over a month after it.

This is why, regardless of the fun factor, I will never ride a motorcycle.

I'd rather have my 3800lb soda can powered gas hog over a lighter faster more efficient motorcycle any day of my lifetime.

Politicians have to kiss ass to their voters I guess. My city is going through something similar, nothing as dangerous, but stupid politicians/public are blowing off a 5+ year study by experts to please voters.

Engineer's have a "duty of care" to the public, so suing for negligence is a possibility (bla bla not legal advice).

why not a bump?
There are bumps of all sorts, like bumps that aren't dangerous but hit hard if you're going over 50 km/h, that sort of stuff.

anyway sucks for the bikers who died because of a stupid driver. It was a risk they decided to take but it still sucks.

Because the at home folks are most of who is voting. My area only had a 12% turnout last time.

They REALLY hate to spill their CaffeeCrapeeMocha in their laps.

She was careless, end of story. None of the blame goes to the motorcyclists.

Why couldn't the motorcyclist see the Fiesta ? Why did 2 bikes hit her ? Riding side by side ? That's stupid.

Without witnesses it could have been entirely the bikers fault for all we know. And your call that this woman should die as well as calling her names is uncalled for.

The road design is stupid. If the actual location looks like this one , I don't see any way an alert biker could hit a car, or be hit by a car, unless they were stopped.

Wait, you think motorcycles shouldn't ride side by side?
