Why isnt he swearing in on a bible, is he too good for that? This is another case of the failure of multiculturalism and bending over backwards in the name of being PC

Whatever happened to separation of Church and state?

The bible has been used, it shouldn't be changed, only the bible should be used

Use separation of Church and state to stop him from swearing on his book, This country was built on Judeo-Christian values and we shouldn't turn our back on them. This is why I support the Bible over other books

As well they let him use his book due to PC and multiculturalism

What happens if someone wants to use mein kampf, should they be allowed?

What would be the point on swearing in on something you don't revere? For a Hindu or Muslim to swear in on the Bible would be like a Christian to swear in on a Charles Dickens.

Whatever happened to separation of Church and state?

...For real?

You equal Mein Kampf to the Bible? o_O

Ok, I don't see no issue with that as the Bhagavad Gita has the same importance in the Hindu religion as the Bible does to a Christian, the Tora does to a Jew, or the Quran does to a Muslim.

What's funny to me is that the Bible explicitly states in the New Testament that you should not swear to God or to anything. Jesus says so. And this is not one of those obscure things people pick out of the book, it is plainly stated in the Gospel.

Jewish people don't swear. They "affirm" when they take the oath of office for the same reason.

Freedom of religion is a good thing. Freedom from religion is a good thing too.

Ain't this country of ours so accomodating?
