I'm pretty positive of it.

if there wasn't a ripping sort of sound i might agree with you.

That's the actual shuffle, followed by a really quick bridge. That's the "pfffft" sound.

I've played cards so long it sounds exactly like a shuffle. A good one, followed by a bad one - that's the slap, slap, slap you hear.

if its not someone tapping on a microphone, then it kind of sounds like paintballs hitting a soft target.

Hmmm..that is a tempting next guess...what if they sped up the sound a bit that would help justify the speed of the "bridge" followed by another shuffle too quickly..

cutting through cardboard with some type of pattern scissors. you need something to account for those "clicks"

Jeez, what an idiot radio station. "HURR, LET'S PUT SOMETHING PEOPLE REALLY NEED TO LISTEN HARD TO ON YOUTUBE!"
YouTube probably has worse sound quality than their radio station.

I was going to say horse/giraffe eating, but it really does sound like shuffling cards.

I still think it's paper being torn from a bound notebook.

Where would the "swoosh" come from after the first second? With cards i could see it being the bridge, but what about wiht the notebook? However if it was cards that is some pretty fast shuffling..

Ok...wtf...some lady just guessed and said:

"I think is a staple gun or something that you use to put staples in boxes"

And the dj said "Oh youre soo cloose I cant belive how close you are...keep that in mind and try to call in again"

Ok so now what is it?

OK, so I am cahnging my mind...tis too mechanical and repetative... its almost like a pricing gun that is actually pricing something (swoosh)

OK, so cards would be great but its too mechanical...the pattern is too precise..

I could see a staple being removed but its too repetative...you would be removing the staple yourself so it wouldnt sound like that (i think)

I just realized what you typed... the radio staion didnt put it on YouTube..I did.. they only let you hear it when you are caller 10 and they place it once.. i recorded it off of the sound card and then uploaded it so everyone could hear it ;)
