I don't understand why Tulip would continue to work at XFX if she hates her job as much as it sounds like she does, why not quit and work somewhere else?

Well it's not exactly justifying trying to screw over the company you work for, if jobs are scarce why is she doing things that can easily get her fired once they trace it?

I don't see why this is screwing over you rcompany, we would have found out eventually anyways, its just that we are finding out sooner.

Revealing the problems and whatnot of the 9800s is going to lead to lowered sales if this information is spread, or if the people that read it here spread it around.

Crappy specs lead to lower sales, regardless of when they are released.

If anything they are re-releasing an old product under a new moniker to make people think it is a significant improvement.

Well, the last time this guy posted he was correct, as Xbit had an article on it a few days later.

I am NOT A GUY, i am a woman working as a personal assistant to someone in XFX.

so you sneak into a lab and take unauthorized screen shots

what you are doing is probably illegal ... or XFX should be aware their security sucks ... and is damaging to your own company as much as an industrial "spy" would cause harm
Unless i am really missing something really BIG, you are morally bankrupt ... why should we believe you at all?

and IF - by the slightest chance - you ARE telling the truth, you are SO fired ... you gave out way too much info :p

I only took a 1 GPU z picture from a computer that was in the lab. ya i know its not legal i an fresh out of collage just doing this for job experience i am getting dirt (Low pay) in name of pay i am in office for almost 8 hours and do have to do some overtime when asked i feel like in intern. you know.

BTW i have got no medical via company, no benifts at all. So that is why i am posting on the forum and getting a kick out of doing it i dont love my job but i very much love this 22" lcd and the fast processer inside oh and the uber fast net See on line movies all the time but now i think stage 6 is closeing down where will i go...

only one? why?
:Q

.. and please excuse me Miss, if we are *suspicious* and question your story ... :p

Your story's inconsistencies lead me to believe you may have made it all up ... there have been brand new posters in the past who have attempted the very same thing just for "attention" as they have nothing to lose and just disappear after the chaos they cause.

Please do tell me what inconsistencies you are talking about i will iron them out as for attention seeking, i dont seek attention from people who are many miles away but ya i do seek attention from people around me.

"if we are *suspicious* and question your story" Who is this we you are talking about "apoppin" and ?.

Do tell me what is your age just asking you are after all very fight sum. Then again if i taught his/her story to be flaud only to taunt him/her i would give him/her a hard time too just to seek attention, that is if i wanted attention??

Look ... let me tell you what i really think ... IF you are not telling the truth, it is fine ... everything will be OK and we will all laugh later.

But IF you are indeed telling the truth, i almost feel sorry for you. You have come onto the Number One Internet Video forum and bragged that you stole information under NDA from XFX R&D. You also left us plenty of details so that we would believe you. ... but unless you lied it is a *trail* of self-confessed "evidence"

What you may NOT realize is that we have nvidia "people" who regularly read and participate in these forums and they would NOT look kindly at what you are doing. Real money and real peoples' jobs are at stake and what you have actually done is called "industrial espionage" - for nothing but attention, according to your story - the way you wrote it.

If *i* was affiliated in ANY way with nvidia - and IF i believed you - i would definitely send nvidia an urgent email and ask them to check into the leak .. to Pressure XFX to do an internal security review and to narrow it down to *exactly* who you are ... and your poor BF and what machine was used and in what department ... you company is not so big with the way you described yourself. ;)

There can be REAL consequences that will haunt you for the rest of your employed life ... no one likes a traitor or a thief in their midst. Seriously, if you feel "cheated" somehow working there, find a job you like ... don't bite the hand that feeds you. Wrong is wrong.

APOPPIN FREAKS OUT

I don't see why it matters that she's released info that we will find out in a month anyway.
in a month AMD will have r700 clocks finalized as far as we know. It would give them a "solid advantage" to adjust their clocks up - or down to maximize their profit. And it would be to nvidia's loss ... and we are talking BIG money! Far reaching consequences.

i *personally* don't care ... not a bit ... i'm not freaking out
i am not affiliated with any HW company ... it does not affect me, my ego, my status, employment or my reputation

But it directly reflects on the OP who has basically confessed to committing a "crime" on the Internet - confessing on THE Video tech forum ... a leak that is very likely to get back to XFX.

i just want people to think ... there are consequences for actions; especially if one is not really as "anonymous" as they think they are.

EDIT : to the OP, this isn't so much of a "moral judgment" on you as a "WtF were you thinking?" - for *attention*?? you risk your future? :Q
-What does your BF think of this? Did he approve?

Actually, it wouldn't be a crime at all if, as she said in a previous thread, she never signed any NDA (and wasn't "supposed" to know the info at all), although it's true that she would be fired if they found out.

In any case, this is no different from the "sources" that provide all the crap the Inquirer and Fudzilla give us to argue over. I'll take any information I can get.

Why does everyone besides apoppin think what Tulip did was a good thing? Leaking information is going to get you fired no matter what company you work for, if they find out who you are, and should not be condoned.

as i said, it is enough to get her and her BF fired ... two careers
- you think they will let him stay? ... obviously she is repeating what she heard from him about the "truth".

... and it is very *different* from "anonymous sources" quoted by HW sites ... she is not anonymous ... she confessed to being THE SOURCE of the photo!

Very unwise ... a "smart" thing to do instead would be to ... uhhh ... hmmm....

Anyway, a journalist's rule of thumbs is Never Reveal Your Sources! - or you will never have any sources ever again.

I agree that it's very stupid for her to say anything about herself and where the information is coming from, but I have no problem at all with her actually providing it and will appreciate that. She only needs to be (a lot) smarter about it.

Of course, this is assuming the whole thing isn't just a hoax.

I don't see the difference between "Leaked specs of the 9800GTX sucks, I'm not going to buy it" and "The 9800GTX just came out, it sucks, and I'm not going to buy it."
"Sucks" just a relative term thrown in there.

Tulip... I see you making about 5 threads a day about the same exact issue, each one promises another little tidbit of info coupled with a broken link (the link is ALWAYS broken).

So yea... I am still waiting for a few cards to arrive and be dissected to see if there is any truth to any of your claims. But so far you present a pretty bleak prospect for both the GX2 and the GTX... I hope this ISN'T the case cause I wanted to upgrade, we shall see.

HOWEVER I am taking this with a big grain of salt, cause last I heard you were working in the marketing department of BFG and some coworkers from R&D were leaking pictures and info to you...

Now you are getting the info from your boyfriend in XFX R&D... interesting...

As a journalist I think you're terribly wrong. A journalist without sources is not a credible journalist. -- Perhaps things are different in Ireland?
