- A potentially worrying outcome is a significant portion of these folks become Dem voters and drive the Dem establishment even further to the right than it already is.

Then the center left is homeless (the far left has always been homeless in US politics so no loss there).

As risks go it looks minuscule when compared to the threat the fraud/rapist/Russian asset Trump represents. A fascist who destroys the Constitution makes all non fascists homeless.

Joe and his following have done right by the progressives, far as I can tell. I'm not worried about it.

I wonder if Trump were Nikki Haley, would he sit in a private booth and flash his supporters one by one for their votes?

When did that happen?

His recent fixation on "wokeness" and "cancel culture." Couple years of it now I think. Campuses have to be all about free thought/expression! Unless it's critical of Israel anyway.

I liked it better when his concerns were more practical and appropriate, when he focused on things like treason, voter suppression, corruption, etcetc. I hope someone appends his views in light of recent warcrimes.

Maher has turned into (or, probably more accurately, revealed himself as) a fucking lunatic.

Unlikable, cranky, smarmy, and more often than not just factually wrong. He's always rubbed me the wrong way and it's gotten so bad in recent years I forbid his presence on our TV.

Dump’s threats to “blacklist” Haley’s donors (whatever that means) totally sound like they’re coming from a position of strength.

It's all part of his massive "real threats of retaliation against anyone who opposes him after he get elected so you better shape up now" program.
Why can't he be barred from running due to basically threatening to do something bad to people who don't vote for him. Should be some sort of law, no?

I'm pretty sure 'support me or I won't support you in the future' is core, protected political speech.

You and I both know what he's really saying.
Yes, he's threatening her with retaliation unless she bends the knee. I mean I hate Trump but that's pretty standard politicking. If the idea is that he's inciting violence against her I hear you but I don't see how anything there would be explicit enough to be encouraging imminent lawless action or whatever.

I have to admit it is enjoyable watching Trump lose his mind that somebody else, worse a woman, is basically pulling a Trump on him.
Yeah Hillary and Nancy didn’t get under his skin as much as Haley has.

He's threatening anyone who gives her money/support, not just her.

Last time I checked, blackmail is usually illegal. A threat something bad may happen to you if you stop contributing to my campaign. Just call me silly then.

That’s not illegal, no. It’s only illegal if it’s something you would otherwise not have a right to.

So for example:

1) ‘I’m going to tell your secret unless you give me your TV’ - blackmail.

2) ‘I’m going to tell your secret unless you support me politically’ - not blackmail.
