Abandoning all standards of competence, morals and sense of decency just for the sake of remaining on Team Trump means your standards are forever set down to the level of Trump. You have no right in the future to complain about any politician violating these basic standards because the response will be "but #whatabout Trump?". Whenever questions about...

corruption
aligning with murderous dictators
failing to hold murderous dictators accountable for killing Americans (citizens and residents)
siding with enemies of America
incompetence
incompetent hires
racism
trashing military
corrupt hires
profiting from holding office
abuse of power
lying to the public and under oath
wasteful spending (not including policy dispute ex. voter fraud commission)
morality
religious (we all know Trump fakes it)
denigrating law enforcement and intelligence agencies
citing the press as "enemies of the people"
alienating our allies
tax increases on the middle class (Trump tariffs)
snowflake behavior (move an entire battleship because of McCain's name)
trashing political opponents while overseas
abusing military (4th July taking their vacation to make it about him)
hypocrisy
deficits/spending
advocating/condoning violence
Incompetent White House staffing
Attempting to subvert a Constitutionally mandated election
states rights

Trump will be the response

Conservatives probably should have thought this through a little bit. They set the bar, and the elected officials of their party went along with it for the most part.

OP has a point. Republicans used to be able to hide behind their disingenuous concern because their elected officials at least pretended to practice what they preach, now the truth is laid bare for all to see.

You forgot pro-tax too. After all, what’s a tariff but a tax your own people end up paying.

I'm sorry Trump who? Once he is out of office they will all have been opposed to him and not one voted for him. Same shit that happened with W.

I have a wall-o-text swimming around in my head about Trump's many failings as a human being, parent, businessman, diplomat, TV personality, role model, leader of the free world......

However, in the interest of not being redundant, I hereby declare that I agree with every negative thing being posted about Trump no matter what it is because it's more than likely true given having been witness to his his game changing antics over these past two years...............................................and counting.

Doesn't it make more sense to simply put everyone that disagrees with you on ignore? Clearly you've made some decisions here, and defined the limits of future discussion.
Perhaps you'd be better served if you followed the Amused posting method where you pop in every few weeks with a proclamation then vanish again?

Missing the overall point aren't you?

Honestly, if Trump's successor dem or pub behaves similarly or in a way that warrants criticism, they need to get it.

If a subsequent dem president is doing shady stuff, even if it doesn't rise (drop) to the bar set by Trump, they need to be held to account.

#whataboutism, party before principals, or stickin it to the dirty cons/libs doesn't look good on anyone.

Watching Republicans do a 180 so hard the g-forces pushed their heads up their asses regarding Trump killed what little respect I had left for the Grand Old Party. Let's not have the other guys do the same thing.

However the standards of behavior were a tan suit and trying to broker dialogue with the Arab community. At least it was for the black man.

BTW - I aress with you. A shady Dem needs to held to account. We can't behave like Republicans.

The GOP made their bed, now they get to face the repercussions. Politics are a cycle, not a ladder. Rationalizations, excuses and tribalism paved the road for Trump. OP didn’t need to declare his intent to BuTrump every topic, its already a given.

So it can compete with the dozen or so other threads built on the same premise. We should just make this one a sticky and save everyone a lot of time. OMG ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!! <insert meme>
