Looks like yet another cabinet pick that seems to be completely against the role of the agency they will be put in charge of. Trump has inspired me to start donating to the Sierra Club.

At least its not Palin.
Good idea, they'll cert
Make sure to visit beautiful Yellowstone Park in 2020.

I was surprised that it wasn't the Lukoil guy. Lukoil owns interests in a Russian diamond mine.

I'm picturing Trump sees himself as CEO of America, where he handpicks his board of directors.
Personally, I just can't see that ending well for us. Pessimism, 2017!

I see it as a fundamental change that will be temporarily beneficial in moving the Federal Government to the right for some limited time. At worst it will be a hiccup in our downward slide to the left and at best it will change the Federal Government for generations. Optimism 2017

And Rick Perry is a possible for DoE. Yep. A dept. he wanted to eliminate a few years ago. Only, he couldn't remember it.

Hopefully President-elect Trump and the transition team will give him some nice clear instructions on shutting down the out-of-control departments in it

If we'd been experiencing a slide to the left, we'd have less inequality, not more.

And how are they going to shut down departments? They can't just impound funds and avoid spending that Congress appropriates and authorizes.

Which departments are "out-of-control"? Why do you think that?

He probably doesn't even know what the DoE does...

Much of the direction that the DOE has taken in the last 6 years or more have been from Executive Orders, those can be rescinded by the stroke of a pen on Jan. 21st.

Because i believe it's used to reward political friends and allies and it's an expenditure of money I don't support.
And how do they award political friends and allies specifically? Do you have evidence of this? Do you understand how the civil service works? It's not political appointees approving loans. And by law, there are are actually specific guidelines companies have to meet in order to qualify and applications are subject to review. They're not just handing blank checks to people.

That's what the 74 questions that the Trump transition team is trying to find out, that's why they asked those questions. Look them up, just the direction the questions take is informative.
