Because i believe it's used to reward political friends and allies and it's an expenditure of money I don't support.

Assuming you had reasonable assurance that there weren't any kickbacks going on and that the money was being used for programs with a real chance at improving the state of alternative energy technologies, would you still disapprove? In short, are you fundamentally against the idea of government money being used for private energy research?

I would approve reasonable and legitimate expenditures for innovative alt energy tech, not ones such as off shore wind.
No i'm not, as long as it's managed properly and clearly funded by legislation.

I pretty much feel the same way, though I'd like to see a large push towards the funding of fusion, next generation fission, and improvement/hardening of our power infrastructure. I view these as national security issues, so I may be more generous with taxpayer money than most in this regard.

I think Trump is playing his role perfectly:

Choosing Goldman Sachs top officials
Choosing oil company top officials
Choosing Washington insiders
Choosing war loving generals

This guy has fit in perfectly with his role.

Good old America.

Picks are definitely questionable. Only positive thing is that the status quo wasn't working. Not sure this will either. But it is change. Definitely scared for the future of the environment. Not sure it will affect me in my life (I'm 35 yo) but if you have children I'd be mortified of the shape the planet will be in their lifetimes.

How is it that so many convince themselves that the system isn't working? The only thing that's been stopping it from working better has been Republicans, anyway. We've had considerable growth & social progress as we've recovered from the nut kick of the ownership society.

Besides that, Trump says global warming is a hoax invented by the Chinese, so why give a damn?

I've seen many Americans that can't find decent paying work because they've been replaced with blatantly illegal labor. I've seen many "poor" people perfectly capable of work refuse to because they can make due with govt handouts. Saw many of those same poor sell food stamps. Sometimes for drugs, sometimes for spending money. Is that a system that is working to you?

It's funny, if you take all the cheap labor coming from Mexico, and combine it with all those lazy welfare queens taking money for nothing, it's almost like they cancel each other out and people should just find other excuses to be racist.

So back to the "I can't dispute the facts so you're racist" argument?

Maybe you can tell us which one of these pics has championed stopping illegals from being hired on the first place. Please tell us which one of these individuals has history of hiring American workers only. Which one of these guys have been calling for welfare reform? Which one of these guys doesn't like cheap labor and pays their bottom ring worked well?

Bullshit. Anecdotes are not data. You merely promulgate the same right wing memes of the last couple of decades, never realizing that the two you offer are contradictory. Well, unless you're claiming that the people who been displaced by illegals are the slackers who won't work & that jobs go begging.

This is an astoundingly wealthy country so we can well afford to give people who are sick, lame, crazy & even lazy enough of a break so that they can feed their kids & not be miserable. We can do the same for people stuck between jobs for an extended period as in the aftermath of the ownership society. We can susidize low income families in a variety of ways,

The only real limiting factor is our acceptance & even admiration for the astounding greed at the tippy top of the economic food chain. They've been waging successful economic warfare on the rest of us since the Reagan era. Hell, the shift in national income share from working people to the financial elite is witness to that.

But, it seems obvious that we're headed right back into GWB 2.0, this time on steroids & meth. I hope everybody is ready for another big dose of that trickledown deception, because that's what we'll likely get.

I've seen admitted felons with no right to vote bitch about various political issues online, as if anybody cares. These are the dregs of society, who call themselves trash because they know they are actual trash. It's quite funny, almost as if they have deluded themselves into thinking that future felon Trump means they can be successful felons too.

News flash: You aren't an american citizen. You have no say in this election, you will have no say in any future of the country, and that's all for the best. Your best, too. Hopefully we will one day have a way to deport you to some island. Until then please stfu and go to breitbart or something, you're a waste of our time.
