There are 10s of millions of illegals in the country. What is right is they not be here and instead come to the country legally, both they and their children, and then remain here legally. If you don't like that, change the law. Until the law is changed, they are here illegally and thus not in the right. You were talking about absurd and sinister...?

It seems Sessions will be the one swinging the axe today and take no questions. Your government will take no questions when deciding the fate of 800,000 people.

In other news Congress has returned to the single most crushed schedule that anybody living has seen now with DACA piled on by Trump as a cherry on top.

We all know the deplorables consider the DACA people the real deplorables

Hogwash. It is just not financially responsible for all that dreaming. Bronco was a big government liberal, so he was into that. We Republicans have to fix all that profligate spending.

What's the financial advantage to throwing out 800K young people?

The plus, if the damn repubs will pass it, is that DACA could become law. In other news, I have never looked forward so much to midterm elections as I do this year. We need some dang freaking sanity back in congress!

It's hard for me to imagine how the Republicans would pass this. First, there's no time in the legislative calendar. Second, do you think the ultra right conservatives in the House are going to let something like this pass? By far I think the most likely answer is that nothing happens and they either reverse the decision last minute or let these people get screwed.

Trump caved to a demand that likely was an empty threat and kicked the can down the road on a road that was already filled with traffic. Total, total incompetence.

It's been supposed that Trump could simply fail to end DACA after the 6 months and continue with business as usual. This sets up another Sessions confrontation since one of the biggest wishes in his little black elf heart is to be done with it and deport them, he's told Trump that he won't defend DACA from the state legal challenges which will follow at some point.

Well I did you 'if' and 'damn republicans'. I didn't know the calendar was full - so that sucks. I was hope that the dems and repubs might make a deal on this for some other legislation. But, it may be down to the 2018 elections before we start seeing some reasonable compromises. I think allot of Indies like me will be voting democratic.

Sessions is the worst kind of human garbage.

He just said ending DACA was "compassionate", inferred that those kids stole American jobs, and that ending DACA will make us safer. What a massive piece of shit.

I think this is great and EXACTLY what America deserves.

As an aside, I guarantee there are at least some people that will be affected by this that voted for Trump.

He is one of the most evil people I have ever seen in contemporary politics.

I heard the announcement. Did he say exactly when DACA ends?

Renewals will processed for 6 months then nothing. Since the government knows who and where all these people are, and going by the guidance the DOJ released, they will be forcibly expelled from the United States should congress fail to act. Given history I think congress will fail to act and the US will probably perpetrate one of the most morally heinous domestic actions in generations.

I heard Sessions say multiple times "rule of law" This is about placating that white base.

Remember we had an old white man found guilty of violating the rights of brown people, in violation of the "rule of law"

That guy gets a pardon from Trump

The sad part of it all is that there are millions of fellow Americans who have been conditioned to think that Sessions is not only right, he is the epitome of patriotism and all that it is to be a good citizen and public servant who is protecting our shores from the evil outsiders.

I'm of the mind that most of those folks who feel that Sessions has the right idea about immigrants are the ones who feel they have been cheated and wronged by "the system", are less educated than most and feel that they are entitled and deserving to be at the front of the line when it comes to being presented with opportunities for a better quality of life despite also having the attitude that this is the great land of "equal opportunity" and having a sense of "personal responsibility" is what brings success and prosperity to those who are hard working and diligent about their work ethic.

The "Me before Thee" attitude is infectious and is eagerly spread throughout the nation by guys like Trump and his GOP sympathizers who wish to divide and conquer for personal gain.

Having to be challenged by a group of "undeserving" newcomers who are competing for those same opportunities, are more motivated to make a good living for themselves through sacrifice and being willing to be overworked and underpaid to achieve success is a real and looming threat to those folks who haven't been blessed with good fortune and the ability to make the necessary adjustments toward our ever evolving society.

These folks wish to turn back the clock when their being of the right color, the right class and being in the right place and time gives them an advantage over those who would give more to get more.

That the GOP is more than willing to exploit and promote these archaic and regressive attitudes is damaging and ruinous to the nation as a whole, but I guess they have no other choice seeing as if the GOP's whole existence is meant to grant every wish that the very wealthy have demanded from them all while giving their middle class and poor constituency a swift kick in the teeth for voting them into office.
