Well, he talks tough because he has a small stick.

So what findings did his admin find that caused him to decertify the deal?

Plans to terminate if Congress doesn't act, which they won't. Congress isn't into acting much these days.

Terminating the deal while Iran is complaint basically gives them the green light to a weapons program and will make it impossible to reimpose multilateral sanctions since the US explicitly acted in bad faith. The only thing the US could realistically do at that point would be to invade Iran. Fucking moron is right.

That Iran wasn't living up to the "spirit" of the agreement, whatever that means. It's bullshit, obviously.

I didn't pick up the "plans to terminate if Congress doesn't act" part. He can always punt again.

It's all just distractional boogieman bullshit for domestic political consumption.

Dump's obsession for marginalizing American influence and our allies at the expense of giving us fewer options and conceding leadership to rivals is nothing short of amazing. He wants America's credibility to match his own. He is literally doing with Iran what he did with contractors for his casinos. He is dragging our reputation through the mud and acting benevolent and patriotic about it, over a deal that our own people say Iran is living up to. Just... wow

I want to buy a KFC franchise in the DC area now. Just so I can reliably send complimentary shipments of chicken and gravy to the White House, daily.

Trump is going to end up getting nothing, Iran will continue to "comply" with the deal, but will probably move to eject any US inspectors. They will also start up their program again in secret because their will be much fear about war. At this point, they are planning for a defensive war against the US.

What will be interesting to see is if Iran decides to label the CIA a terrorist Org. in retaliation. At this point, the US basically just calls anybody it fights as terrorists... the Russians also call everyone terrorists. It has lost all meaning.

Has it ever occurred to you that Iran never really wanted nuclear weapons? That they established their capabilities & former stockpiles of LEU as bargaining chips to be traded away?

They're not about to violate their deal with the rest of the 5+1 just because America went temporarily insane & made Trump President. It's the deal they wanted, or they wouldn't have agreed to it. If Trump manages to screw up the Boeing deal, for example, Iran will just make a deal with Airbus or Comac. The same applies to anything else they can't do for themselves.

Apparently Iran violated the "spirit" of the agreement. I am guessing it's Melania's astrologist who found that out.

The seminal event in all this ridiculousness was our intervention to overthrow Iran's democratically elected leader because he wanted to nationalize their oil industry in the 1950's. That led to our installation of the abusive Shah, who led to the revolution, which led to the hostage crisis, and tensions and defensive posturing have been rising ever since. Although we were able to hold onto the oil profits for a while, American interventionism often goes very badly. Just when friction seemed to be waning, a guy like Trump throws a wrench into the works. Who could have predicted that?

It's not just Trump. Repubs fought it tooth & nail. Painting Iran as the boogieman serves their domestic political purposes. It's all highly contrived, of course, an artifact of GWB era fearmongering & agitprop.

It all feeds into the "us vs. them" wiring of our brains, which used to serve tribes to protect resources, but has limited value in the modern world. Many seem to want to nourish it though, increasing divisions.

The bad thing is that Iran has its hardliners as well and their current president was able to keep them at bay with this agreement and it appeared that the hardliners would be losing power. Then trump says and does stupid shit and I can guarantee you Iranians will be running back to the hardliners and things will escalate once again.
