Trump probably shot at a rally -- Still a jerk

Not only that but one of them was/is a far more effective leader.

What did Trump do for his first three years in office? He cut taxes for rich people and then basically sat there having rallies and being bribed. Then we saw what he would do in a real emergency with COVID and it was basically a blizzard of lies and incompetence. He did a really bad job! Biden on the other hand guided the US to the best post-pandemic performance of nearly any developed nation. He did a good job!

Trump just basically said in an interview that his only real legislative priority for term 2 is cutting the corporate tax rate to 15%.

Theme basically is going to be bigger tax cuts for the wealthy/corps and bigger bribes for Trump once he stacks the agencies with his political appointees after canning the civil service.

When we have a binary choice, since realistically, only one of them will become the next president, it sounds like this is a really easy, great choice to make (to choose Biden). Am I getting everything I want? No, but there is an extremely clear distinction between the two in character, record of service/administration successes/failures, and who they surround themselves with.
 
There is no evidence or reports that Trump has contacted any of the victims of the shootings that I know of. Only statements from the family of one victim that Biden has reached out, but nothing from Trump. But I'm open to evidence that he did.

Trump gave these victims the honor of being wounded/killed on his behalf, what more could they want from him the greedy bastards. Now the dead guy goes to MAGA Heaven, which is sponsored by Brawndo.

Everything will always and forever be about him. Look at the video when the SS are trying to get him offstage. He’s waving and pumping his fist, oblivious to the hard work of everyone around him to get his ass to safety. It’s his life in a nutshell. He’s been carried his whole life by people around him while he just basks in the adulation and praise for shit he HASN'T done.

He’s likely proud of getting shot at. After all, JFK was shot at. Abraham Lincoln was shot at. Ford and Reagan too. Not all of those efforts were successful; but no doubt as Trump sees it, he’s joining a very exclusive club: Presidents who have had attempted assassinations upon them. And undoubtedly, he will make as much out of this as he can. “Those commie radical Marxist liberal-leftists tried to kill me. Well, I’m still here. MAGA!”
And his fans will eat it up. Given the non-stop, un-factchecked, lie fest that is the RNC convention, I’m sure they would. Especially since the shooter was a registered Republican with an AR15

That is up to all of us, but especially our candidate who under normal circumstances would command at least some attention and thus provide direction for the campaign.
 
As for the motivation for the shooting. It may be simply a bullied loner. The shooter was apparently a bit of a loner and outcast in school. Rejected by the rifle team, maybe being bullied by fellow Republican/Trump/MAGA fans, some of whom may have been the rifle team guys who made fun of his marksmanship. There are reports he was kicked out of his high school rifle club for being a poor shot. He decided that shooting Trump would be a good way to show them all, and/or end it all. Without any notes or some kind of manifesto, no social media trail (yet) we may never know a motive. He was a weak, bullied loner, and wanted to build himself up by killing the powerful guy idolized by his bullies. There may not be much more to it than that.

As for what happened, It looks like a simple breakdown of communication by local law enforcement and the secret service. As I understand, this particular barn was considered out of the SS zone and it was conveyed that this vantage point would be secured by local law enforcement. There were attendees at the rally that noticed the shooter on the roof and let it be known to law enforcement where he was. It seems the local police tried to get up onto the roof of this building and for whatever reason got a ladder or put a cop on the others cops shoulders to get up on the roof. It seems they had a difficult time getting up there and once they did get close, this alerted the shooter that apparently turned his weapon on the cop and he bailed, ducked or fell off the ladder. Now the shooter knows his cover is blown and starts randomly firing his weapon in haste and seconds later the SS takes him out. It's likely the local police that did attempt to get on the roof likely saved Trumps life.

I haven't been able to find a single source that supports the notion that DJT is not a "convicted felon" until after his sentencing, under NYS law. I believe dude just made that up completely. The etymology of the word convict is Latin's convincere, and a jury has been convinced of his guilt. Sentencing is to determine the penalty, and an appeal could overturn a conviction.

For example, NY and NJ already consider him a convicted felon. They aren't waiting for Judge Merchan's sentencing:

It's sad and highly inaccurate how many people bandy about the phrase, Biden is the "lesser of two evils." I don't agree 100% with Biden administration policies and results; but even beside their fundamental differences, there's not much comparison between DJT and Biden from a performance standpoint. One guy goes down as one of the 5 worst American presidents ever; the other is somewhere above average unless you truly hate Democratic policies.

Even if a conservative's brain rot convinced them to ignore the flagrant law-breaking and ultimate attempt to subvert democracy, the ledger doesn't seem favorable to DJT at all. Unless you're a billionaire or large corporation, I guess.

Personally I would vote a literal 💩 over DJT; but even if I was a 50/50 swing voter, this really isn't a close decision whatsoever.
