Trump prepares to rally in Tulsa...

Try this...although you'll be listening to him...

It's highly amusing that the whole ramp/water thing has gotten stuck not only inside Trump's head, but inside his fans' heads, inside of Fox News' head.

If Trump had just dropped it - had a normal human being's sense to take the L, forget about it, and move on - very few people would still be talking about it now. But he just can't let go.

And his supporters - I understand that the folks in the arena gave him a standing O when he drank water like a motherfuck. There just isn't enough rolleyes.

I'm waiting for the inevitable projection from the Trumpers, where they accuse Biden of not being able to drink water like a badass.

They'll accuse Biden of having orange spray on tan next.

Imagine if Obama ever allowed himself to occupy 90% of his working time talking about his tan suit or the Dijon mustard that Fox News and their homunculi viewers couldn't stop talking about, instead of the....0 minutes that he ever devoted to responding to that.

Wait... hold up... the tickets were FREE??? I thought the rubes had to pay for the honor of being in His Presence.

Shouldn’t they have charged a token $5 or $10 a head to a) fund the campaign and b) prevent Internet shenanigans?

If I’m Trump (shudder), I’d fire everyone involved with this event.

Speeches like this are meant to gin up support. The objectives are to🙁a) get huge crowds to show you are legit (witness Obama 2008, especially early, and Trump ad nauseum), (b) get media coverage because of (a) and (c) draw in the undecided/uncommitted and hopefully persuade them.

I've attended quite a few speeches (not Trump's) and never was charged, never heard of one being charged for. Frequently they have tickets if it is in an inside venue so they don't "oversell."

Don't bet 'cher sweet bippy just quite yet.

I like to think of it this way: Biden is likely to win, but we have to act like he could easily lose if there's so much as a sneeze in the wrong direction. If every good American does their part, then the Trump regime ends and functional democracy returns.

If you follow this twitter thread for a ways (interesting ride!) you get to one that posts a link to an online posting of a PDF of Bolton's new book. It opened for me and I'm reading it now. I tried to download it but got a message that so many people are attempting to download it that it can't be done at this time, try later, say 24 hours. Meantime I can read it. The beginning makes abundantly clear that Bolton has a mind, can write and is no buffoon. This is going to be a very popular read, evidently.

Agreed.

My semi-rant was more of an ominous warning of things to come from the Trump Orbit and a comment on how monumentally stupid and pig-headed the whole idea of holding a spite induced rally in the midst of a spreading pandemic was.

I'm hoping there are science-minded folks out there that had previously planned to treat Trump's deflated rally at Tulsa as a statistical research project in their efforts to better understand the nature of this virus and how to defeat it at the lowest cost of lives lost.
The irony in all this is astounding. It's hard to imagine a more poetic justice serendipity occurring than a 100 year pandemic of a highly contagious and rather deadly disease hitting it's 2nd (1st?) wind just as Dump launches his precious in person rallies in hopes of building much needed steam for a 2nd iniquitous term. This to me comes off as marvelous fiction, much less incredible reality. But real it is.
Last night should be a sign to everyone that Trump's chances of winning again are really low. He is going to get zero new votes and as you can see from the turnout, he's losing people. Dude will not win.
At a time when good news is hard to come by, this would be very welcome. If it comes to be, it will make my holiday season. If not, man, a repeat of 2016's super letdown.

@Muse
thank you 🙂
If the first few paragraphs as he introduces himself, I am reinforced in my already low opinion of him and his bent, his achievements to date.

So this is one of the first times I've ever actually sat down and watched a trump rally event and I don't know what I expected but what I got was just so... Banal and boring.

It was really just an hour long bitchfest, with these long meandering digressions, and I dunno.

It just reminded me of the whole "banality of evil" concept, where there isn't some evil genius at work, just someone of mediocre thought and a particular set of skills.

His MOJO is a NOGO now.

Wait. the way I read it, Parscale is saying that thousands of Trumpers stayed home because they not only read or heard the lying fake news media but they BELIEVED the lying fake news media.

That's got to scare the pants off of the campaign people.

Or not considering that he just made it up for the statement.
That’s what I was getting at. His base believed the media if you believe him. His base are a bunch of delicate snowflakes afraid of about 100 protesters if you believe him..

What’s worse is more people come out to lobby to be able to get haircuts and their nails done than come out for this rally.

Brad is doomed, Jared & the Golden Child are mad at him.
I give him till July 4th

"Kellyanne (Conway), (Paul) Manafort and Corey (Lewandowski) never had rally size issues," the adviser said of Trump's former campaign managers.

What’s really funny is they are blaming the campaign manager by comparing him to campaign managers who didn’t have to deal with a pandemic. His predictions were crap but I have no doubt the entire campaign felt the same way. These fucking morons are still in complete denial about the seriousness of the pandemic or how decisive Trumps approach has been. Please let them stay that way another 4 months.

Not to mention: if the TikTok and K-pop contingents weren't responsible for that wildly high registration number, which Parscale bragged about just a few days before the event, doesn't that just make the low turnout even worse?

At least we have the Trump campaign actually admitting to low turnout this time, if only because there's absolutely no way for it to deny the poor showing. And that's saying something when Trump's team lied about his inauguration.
The photoshop team must be on vacation....
