And his supporters - I understand that the folks in the arena gave him a standing O when he drank water like a motherfuck. There just isn't enough rolleyes.
The Democratic standard for President: Intelligent, articulate, no scandals with money or women or racism or anything else.

The Republican standard for President: Able to drink water from a glass.

Guys he wasn't even trying to drink the water, didn't you hear him?

He was just wetting his lips because he had been talking for so long and you know, that is what people do with cups of water. They don't drink it, they just kiss the top to wet their lips.

Buncha morons.

man I don’t think Parscale thought through the implications of this statement he just made.

When butthurt over being owned leads to self-ownage.

Henry Rollins and John Waters? Really?

I might have to check that out.
I have the book beside me. Really great, inspiring, funny and broadens your view of life's possibilities. People who put on the world in amazing ways.

Wait... hold up... the tickets were FREE??? I thought the rubes had to pay for the honor of being in His Presence.

Shouldn’t they have charged a token $5 or $10 a head to a) fund the campaign and b) prevent Internet shenanigans?

If I’m Trump (shudder), I’d fire everyone involved with this event.
Don't need to charge if funding comes from US tax dollars.

Trump's mistake was that he thought things would be as he wishes it would be and not as things really are. It's worked well for him before so go for it again, right? He thought his force of personality would overcome any obstacles in his way toward getting reelected including a pandemic that's still rolling along here at home killing over 100,000+ Americans and rising.

Looks like he finally met an enemy he can't smother with his trademark reliance on lies, innuendo and lame name calling.

Looking forward to his next rally where his followers have been witness to the catastrophic spread of the virus from having their loyalist Trump compatriots spitefully refuse to wear masks at Tulsa.

Sadly, I don't think we'll ever get exact details of whether anyone at the rally had and spread COVID-19 (the campaign could provide data that would answer the question, but it won't). Most likely, we'll get isolated reports from attendees who test positive a few weeks later.

The irony is that if media played a role in low attendance, it was far more likely to have been Fox News and other rightwing media. Anyone reading or viewing mainstream media would know that the protests have been peaceful for a over a week now. But rightwing media has slanted their coverage of the protests, making their readers think the protesters are violent and that antifa is out busting heads.

And what media are potential trump rally goers reading anyway? It sure as hell isn't CNN.

Not to mention: if the TikTok and K-pop contingents weren't responsible for that wildly high registration number, which Parscale bragged about just a few days before the event, doesn't that just make the low turnout even worse?

At least we have the Trump campaign actually admitting to low turnout this time, if only because there's absolutely no way for it to deny the poor showing. And that's saying something when Trump's team lied about his inauguration.

Wait. the way I read it, Parscale is saying that thousands of Trumpers stayed home because they not only read or heard the lying fake news media but they BELIEVED the lying fake news media.

That's got to scare the pants off of the campaign people.

Or not considering that he just made it up for the statement.

i really hope biden makes it a point - just for the briefest of moments - to take a drink of water from a cup using one hand during a rally.

i bet it would send trump into a shitstorm

Better yet, close his eyes, grab the cup, raise cup to mouth with one hand, drink from cup.

don't give them ideas, I want a repeat.

Agreed.

My semi-rant was more of an ominous warning of things to come from the Trump Orbit and a comment on how monumentally stupid and pig-headed the whole idea of holding a spite induced rally in the midst of a spreading pandemic was.

I'm hoping there are science-minded folks out there that had previously planned to treat Trump's deflated rally at Tulsa as a statistical research project in their efforts to better understand the nature of this virus and how to defeat it at the lowest cost of lives lost.

Last night should be a sign to everyone that Trump's chances of winning again are really low. He is going to get zero new votes and as you can see from the turnout, he's losing people. Dude will not win.

People who are saying that trolls were the reason this was empty are flat out wrong. There was no cap on the number of tickets available, they bragged about giving out a million of them! The reason it was empty is people didn’t want to go. End of story.

The only thing the trolls did was render their information gathering useless.

right. They had expected overflow crowd, which means they had an actual capacity of 19k or so tickets. So if anything, trolls could only effect those potential tickets and, I think, certainly had an effect on attendance, right? ...but they were expecting up to a million people. The trolls couldn't have any effect on the overflow event that the campaign canceled because no one was there. It's not like they needed tickets for that, right?

maybe the snowflake base was too scurred to travel because of all the antifa that were promised to show up and do all the terror against them?

great article on this nutjob from a few months back. I particularly appreciate how he fits the Trump vernacular perfectly:

--mediocre skill set, claims expert genius and experience, anyway
--one trick pony that is easy to defeat and make neutral in quick fashion
--his own worst enemy.
