Trump has a live convo with National Asso. of Black Journalists in Chicago - and he actually nails it.

Yes, I knew you had me confused with someone else but wanted to give you all the rope you needed to hang yourself because I can't decide between you, @MrSquished or @darkswordsman17 which one is the king of going supernova over some of the dumbest shit. If you think I nuked you from orbit here, well that is cute.

By the way, what are Pelosi's and Feinstein's handles here? I'd like to say hi to Pelosi and see what Dianne's posting style was before her death.
Yes I get supernova over dumb shit. You know like people completely fighting and dismissing anything in regards to saving this presidential race. Like yourself repeatedly, and who dismissed people that wouldn't support Biden as not worth reaching out to.

Your entire points about the best way to save our democracy were 100% wrong and you were immune to discussion otherwise no matter what.

But that's dumb things to you. You know the whole existence of democracy and freedom. Well good luck with your bad self. Just wanted to put things into context

That was my first thought too. But I am also keenly aware that if you start to discount everything you dislike, you become an echo chamber. Maybe they were staffers, but if I had to bet they WERE black journalists cheering him on. The crowd was almost entirely black.

I watched the whole thing. The notion that he was completely laughed at the whole time is detached from reality.

Thanks for bringing up substance.
For that to be true, or even make sense, what the person is saying has to be truthful. A lie, disqualifies itself from the start. So how can you NOT discount what a person's saying when they are lying? Isn't a room full of lies an echo chamber from the start, created by the speaker who is lying?

...I think it's also clear that Zeze has no experience with a black audience.
There's certainly some cultural aspect to this. OP isn't Black nor a Black journalist (neither am I). And while laughter is universal, how a particular crowd reacts as a group is not.

Yes, his post was flat out called stupid in post 4. Post 2 and 3 both implied he was trolling, along with a few more posts right after 4. Let's not pretend people were being civil.

I get that it is likely a bad take. I haven't watched any of it myself yet. I wasn't planning on it because I find it difficult to stomach Trump speaking for more than 10-20 seconds at a time, but this thread has piqued my curiosity so I plan to attempt a watch when I get a chance. Even if it is a bad take, maybe he's just not proficient at reading rooms? Maybe the sound wasn't up enough to capture the nuances of the crowd reactions? Still not as bad as people who see his first post and immediately jump to the conclusion that he is maga or whatever.
The only part I watched is the first question, and it's posted here by CNN:

I also commented that these reactions are not "booing" but I wouldn't necessarily say it was applause for DJT either. K1052 already weighed in yesterday that it is difficult to know just from watching video what exactly the crowd reaction is.

You don't have to watch the entire clip but you get some quick feedback once DJT starts trying to rip Rachel Scott and the event organizers. On substance, I said it yesterday and I'll repeat: Scott's questioning is direct and I love the line of attack. It's hard-hitting, but totally professional in tone. In normal Trumpian fashion, he doesn't answer of course so you're not missing anything if you don't play it until the end. I'm not going to watch the entire 30 minutes because there's been enough reporting to know that Trump didn't "win" the event.

I think Zeze was trying to make point it appeared well received not that Trump was not lying the whole time? Seems most on this thread saw it differently.

Did you notice how pretty much everyone who you were calling a Biden cultist immediately jumped to supporting Kamala the minute Biden dropped out? Is that how cultists behave? Do you think maybe you should chilled out a bit with that rhetoric?

I was a white dude for Biden who immediately went white dude for Harris. I don’t think I was Biden cultist? Hmmm, well I do have a Biden shrine in my office that I am converting to Harris. Does that count?

But he made it based on denying what we saw in front of our faces. The reporters at the scene only confirmed what we all knew/saw. Denying reality is a very sore subject in this forum and will draw the ire of many.

I watched the whole thing. There were clear laughs/cheers/woos with him. To say it otherwise is complete lunacy.

He even closed to an applause and woos that were not awkward. There was a bit of energy.

Answer me. Did you watch the whole thing? Not the BS cliips where they cut off at perfect audience timing

I answered everyone's questions and you guys ignored all my points. The very same thing you accused me of.

Oh I agree with you. I just think his first post was about how well it was received in his opinion and some of us asked questions about Trump’s words and others disagreed with him about crowd reception and it all went down hill from there. Trumps words were horrendous for a Presidential candidate in my opinion.

A few cheers and laugh doesn’t make it a win for him. Far more laughing at him and gasps. And yes I watched it live.

So now we are at "few cheers and laughs don't make it a win" from "you are 100% delusional trumpian idiot, no one cheered and laughed with him."

It took 12 pages. Good job Anandtech.

I don't know why I thought anandtech forum politics was somehow bit better as an old forum.

I never accused them that they wouldn't support Kamala so what is your point? If I did, you'd have a point. Unfortunately, you don't.

Do you know how many people had to go supernova to get Biden out of this race on much higher levels than any of us? Thank God people did, even though people were telling them they were dumb and insane

You have not answered my question - do you know of a single solitary person not affiliated with the Trump campaign who actually attended the event and shares your interpretation?

If not, can you explain why your interpretation where you admittedly have no idea who was cheering or whatever is superior to those who do?

Make your own conclusion, boss. Stop always listening to what others have filtered and machined through. WATCH the live-recorded video from start to end. Feel the crowd as if it were a stand-up performance.
