The case was prosecuted by Chris Christie, who said Kushner committed "one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes" he ever prosecuted"

To be honest I knew nothing about the Kushners. After reading the entire Wikipedia articles on both father and son I did note some interesting things:

* Charles Kushner's crime was making illegal campaign contributions...to Democrats. Both father and son were life long Democrats until the late 2000s.

* As mentioned, Charles was prosecuted by Chris Christie (Republican). Eleven years after having Charles convicted, Jared Kushner would then be influential in having Christie fired from Trump's transition team in 2016.

* Seven years later, Chris Christie would later mention one of Jared's conflicts of interest during his presidential bid:

Technically the Saudi Arabian Wealth Fund still owns the money. The Kushner fund only earns generous management fees for managing it. Its hard to not see this as a conflict of interest. The money should probably be returned if Jared works in the next administration to settle this controversy.

Will Jared do the right thing?

I think the Patel nom is only slightly better positioned than the Gaetz nom.

Trump could easily have found a less high profile lackey who would put like Rachel Maddow in prison for being mean to him but he just loves the showboat nuts who turn the Senate off.

From the article:
In a country where Christian morality still plays a central role in public life, he is due to be grilled on his alleged infidelity at a Senate confirmation hearing at the US Senate next year.
Too bad Christian morality played no role in choosing a president.

There are two christians, and they are very different;

  1. Jesus christians
  2. Republican christians
Do not be confused by the fact they both call themselves "christian". It should be noted that the republican christian will profess their christianity much more vehemently than the Jesus variety.

On a scale of cabinet nominees that has Matt Gaetz on one end, Isaacman for NASA administrator is probably closer to the other end.

I've driven a car, does that mean I'm qualified for Director at NHTSA?

Commanding a space mission is a little more complicated than driving a car and the training is a lot more involved. Isaacman has over 20 years of managing big companies. I think Isaacman will do a good job of articulating NASA's needs to Congress and he will have a good grasp on how to run a large organization. Compared to Trump's previous picks, this one is a good one.

No but you're completely qualified for Director of NASA.

For NHTSA you need someone who hasn't even left their home for the doc's office yet!

The best part is now his mom is out there promoting him.

The guy who says women shouldn’t be in the military is having his mom help him out getting a job.

- I can already imagine the confirmation hearing...

Senator: "Mr. Hegseth there have been some very disturbing allegations of..."

Hegseth's Mom: "Excuse me, please direct all questions toward me and do not speak directly to my son!"

Hegseth: "Mooooom you're embarrassing me!"
