It's not about weeping, its about if you are going to have the death penalty you had better get it right. Standards for DP should be higher then life in prison.
If there were major recanting of evidence in the Brewer case a stay would have been appropriate.

This was an issue between pro vs anti death penalty.
After all those years, I believe the recanting witnesses simply did not want to be part of another death. Their recanting was more so a statement against the death penalty and feeling they too would become part of the death back all those years ago. After so many years, its normal for people to have second thoughts. You have to support the justice system, in my opinion. People just like us sit on that jury day after day, then decide. You cannot just ignore all the hard work they went through.
Even if no witness had recanted, but they were still sure he was the one, it isn’t surprising so many might have changed their minds on not what happened but on the death penalty process itself.
I find the real heroes are the victim families that forgive and reject the taking of another life. And I have a hard time with the victim families that feel they have no closure until another life has been taken. That is the true sad part. The fact Perry feels taking another life is the ultimate justice tells me that he is in fact no Christian. Perry's religious beliefs, if he has any, are not from Christian beliefs, but come from a dark evil soul. But that’s another issue...

The shell casings were not an absolute match. They might match, but it isn't for certain.

He was already given a trial and found guilty of the crimes he was accused of.
He has also been through the complete appeals process and none has gone in his favor.
22 years can cloud a lot of memories...

Shooting # 01 - Davis is convicted.
Shooting # 02 - Davis is convicted. The shell casings match the ones from shooting # 01, 10 eye witnesses testified he did it.
I think this is just and excuse to protest the death penalty.

No one said it was CSI. They match or don't... Everything I have read stated that the shell casings were a match between the two convicted crimes. You know they look at several different characteristics such as firing pin mark and ejector lever marks. Enough where I would venture they can tell they came from the same weapon.
How about send us a link where it says they almost match..
That has been one of the defense's points over the years. The witness for the prosecution said that he thinks they match, while the examinations by the defense during the appeal process says that they might match but it is not definitive. Each side is going to use the results of the person that best supports their case.
Again, it isn't an exact science. It isn't "either they match or they don't". The experts do the examinations and come to their own conclusion. There is no magic CSI 100% match.
Around the same time one KKK member got executed in Texas for killing an innocent black man. The other one who killed an innocent black man is governor of the state and will get away with it.

I'll give you that it isn't 100% absolute science. There is no 100% absolute anything. That being said they can tell that the casing came out of the same weapon.

Shell casings from both shootings match.

Didn't happen in the case of the cop. He was found guilty of obstructing justice by a jury of his peers and executed on the spot. (Pistol-whipping the homeless is just good community policing -- the cop shouldn't have gotten involved.) Yet people still had a problem with it after the fact. :hmm:
