How dare you question the velocity of his magnitude? He's the mighty Wikipedia Warrior!

What about denouncing and general bullshitting about diplomacy or political and military interactions with Vietnam despite strategic concerns about Chinese doctrine and conduct?

Why is Kerry wanting to use troops on the ground?

This president is the biggest war monger on the face of the earth.

http://www.latimes.com/world/middleeast/la-fg-islamic-state-kerry-20141209-story.html

They want us to put troops on the ground so we can save the Muslims from themselves???

Why do we want to kill more Americans to save a few Muslim countries. Do you really think this will make Muslims like Americans?

The number of dead soldiers in conjunction with the necessity of the particular war would suggest you are full of shit.

:D

How many soldiers do you know that spend most of their time posting on tech forums?
Nebor could easily dismiss any doubt by posting some proof, I don't know any soldiers either who need to remain anonymous
Unless of course he is just scared of justice for his death threats against members here and their families

Vietnam was supposed to be advisers only. :(
Scope creep exists for both military and political objectives. Plausible deniability is always at the forefront until to late.

I suggest there are people who just don't want to talk about what they've personally seen or participated in due to either security reasons or that it's just something one lives with, not boasts about.

Regarding Kerry, well this is exactly as I expected. Invoke the "America will save the world because of our inherently superior moral fiber from <insert target group here>. America will not fail in <insert heart stirring patriotic sentiment> no matter the sacrifice".

Then immediately reassure the citizens here that "there won't be boots on the ground".

The next step is say to oneself "shit how do I do that" and take a more or less clueless stab at it. When that doesn't work out according to plan call for flexibility, meaning a retraction of the promise to not engage in ground activities, something which never should have been made to begin with.

At that point the President has carte blanche to use any authorization as he sees fit.

Something well put by someone who knew-

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

Exactly, which is the opposite of Nebor.
He doesn't let a chance to go by to inform posters he is military, he has even gone so far as to say that the military agrees and pushes his war on Islam

He may have seen service or not but I am not impressed either way. What matters is if he has honor. I'll let you come to your own conclusions as to my opinion on that.

I have no idea how to judge that on the internet.
I should also mention that I am well aware that I don't really fit in here, yet here I am posting away ;)

FID is the primary mission of the SF? No Unconventional Warfare is the primary mission of the SF. They can do reconnaissance and DA also. Since you seem to want to spew insults without actually knowing what the fuck you are talking about yourself how about you eat crow.

You seem paranoid of possible deploying of regular soldiers so you are all fucking boneheaded about the SF being engaged in enemy contact so that is why you are wanting them to do only FID.

And I might just have that book. Bought a Special Operations book plus some basic infantry fieldbook from a local military surplus. Was from some Psy Ops guy who was deployed over ther and now is a mechanic or something. Actually more like hundreds of pages stapled together than actually a real book.

You really are a Wikipedia warrior. Tell me, what's the motto of the US Army Special Forces Branch? What's their mission statement? Out of the approximately 25,000 18-series soldiers deployed worldwide right now, what percentage are involved in FID and what percentage are involved in direct action?

I like how you say "possible deploying of regular soldiers" when I've shown you proof that the entire 1st ID Division HQ has deployed to Iraq. I have no issue with SF being involved in direct action, but most of the DA going on in Iraq is being carried out by other JSOC and allied assets.

You can download FM 3-05 online from a variety of sources. It's been updated regularly for the last decade. Since you clearly like to read this sort of thing and fantasize about being an "operator," you might want to check it out. If you read enough you might be able fool as many people as John of Sheffield used to.

Of course the "rush to war" crowd will happily support Obama in whatever he wants, just because he's their guy. And no doubt they'll themselves in knots coming up with reasons why we should go into Iraq in 2014 that will make Dubya's reasoning look like Einstein in comparison despite having opposed him ten years ago.

I don't know why Obama and his supporters have latched onto "troops on the ground" as some sort of distinguishing factor for not calling this a "war." We didn't really have troops on the ground in Operation Desert Storm, did we? Well, is anyone disputing that we were involved in that war between Iraq and Kuwait? No? Well, then, we are at war with ISIS. Troops on the ground does not distinguish this from being a "war."

You can feel that way but for those of us who have served we can spot someone who is BSing. I'm sure many of use know people that can't discuss missions they were involved in. Many can't reveal their identities due to assignments as well.

Oh Lord...
Nebor has been this way and held his extremist and disturbing views long before he ever "joined" the mil
He posted here everyday he was on "active duty in Afghanistan" just like JOS
Even when he issued his death threats against members and their families

How do we defeat ISIS by not having troops on the ground in Iraq and Syria? How do not have boots on the ground to topple the Syrian regime? How do we keep Syria from falling into ISIS hands without troops on the ground.

History has proven when they want the option to have boots on the ground they will utilized it to the fullest extent possible. We prepared to have thousands of troops in Syria being blown up daily for a decade? And for what?

My daughter had internet access the entire time she was in Afghanistan. Big difference between Nebor and JOS is one can tell Nebor knows what he's talking about and JOS posted crap that was blatantly BS.

Guess you need to place him on ignore as it obviously chaps your ass that he posts in here.

It's no skin off my arse, unless a guy with Asperger's or such decides to follow through on his threats against family.

You can't expect someone who's never served to understand that even a combat arms officer going out on patrols every day has to sit down at a network connected computer in order to send up his reports, as well as prepare his CONOPs for the next day complete with satellite imagery, risk assessment, etc. for approval at battalion HQ. For me, at the end of the day, BSing on this forum with people I've chatted with for over a decade was one of the things that make you feel "normal" when you're living in a plywood shack surrounded by hesco barriers. It's also a relatively low bandwidth site to access over a SNAP or CPN connection.

I've had Earl on ignore for months now. One of only 3 people I have on ignore, along with Moonbeam and alkemyst. I don't mind hearing contrary views, but when people just post invalid nonsense, it gets to be too much for me.

I really never cared if JOS or Nebor served. I might have my suspicions, however being in a chair typing away pretending or having seen active combat does not change the worth of their ideas. When I see someone who clearly is against principles we at least pretend to adhere to, who is absolutely callus in terms of human decency, then that person's record is less than relevant other than the actual ability to do mischief. Why should who they are impress me any more than a President? One thing I will never argue- the man who goes to war is never the same as the one who comes back, for good or ill. Sometimes that change manifests as an amplification of nature. Some seek to do good in a world they found to be heartless and cruel. Some are angry and become a threat. Some are burdened and come back alone and lost. Some are assholes and come back even larger ones.

It all depends.
