The part where you put him down because of his AA preference

I have no problem with him or others liking it. But then me saying let the market decide makes no sense in that context, if he likes it then he likes it period, its not about if more people likes his preference more than mine because that is a different context "Which is more popular" which in itself would still not change his or mine personal preference.

But too often when someone says that they don't like something, he comes out with let the market decide as if that changes anything about a person not liking something unless they are sheep keep with the trend bandwagon jumpers, it should not matter how popular it is to others, if you like it you like it if you don't you don't.

Its like a Console gamer coming in and saying the market has decided that Console gaming is more popular when we say anything about our preference for PC gaming, well yes Console gaming is more popular...SOoooo F W.

What I think, being part of the market like you, matters.

imho,

Personally feel my views are irrelevant in the big picture that is the over-all market. Instead of the silly bickering, personal aspects, allow the market to decide. Pretty simple actually.

You don't like proprietary? Fine! Some don't!

It hasn't effected the market place negatively over-all; and because of proprietary, nVidia is growing and so is the PC platform.

If your views are irrelevant then why do you keep spouting them ad nauseam.

Propriety is not good.It stagnates growth and slows adoption of better features.PhysX that runs on a GPU has stagnated to very few games a year. The market decided that it is crap or not worth it or something I guess:hmm:.

Which basically means you put the corporations above yourself and everyone else.

Not all proprietary is bad, where NV's proprietary is doing its best and i have nothing against it, is not the same proprietary that is effecting us though.

Let me guess:
"The market decided that [Forward+ or Hair simulation or every other feature which is no in every game] is crap" :hmm:

The market might decide that, you have to wait a few years for your answer. after 5 years with gpu physx the market decided it was a fail.

No, it means that I don't have to wait to have neat abilities and features.

And i have no problem with that if that what your happy with, but im not happy with the level they have being giving and that is intrinsic to the situation of how the proprietary was handled, it can be a double edge sword.

Im giving you extra but not as much extra if handled another way but the other way while being better for you and everyone else's gaming experience overall does not net me any more money so im not going to do it.

NV could of handled PhysX better and it would be used to far greater effect years ago, there's the irony.

I've been waiting for this for so long! I am so sick of unrealistic hair blobs breaking the immersion. Great job AMD for finally making this happen in a game!

I'm happy to see that this is not some AMD exclusive feature, but that it will work as long as the graphics card is DirectX 11 compliant. I'm curious to see how much of a performance hit this will cause, and how different it will perform on AMD and Nvidia hardware.

So I have been told!:)

I like this TressFX based on it looks like AMD is not just raising the bar with working with developers but creating tools to create improved gaming experiences.

Lol at a certain butthurt poster of the green camp

Who gives a crap if Nvidia had tech demos 10 years ago? How many games made use of it? Zero

AMD puts it out on an AAA title right away, AND makes it available for EVERYONE

If you cant see the difference, youre hopeless
Im really glad AMD got both consoles as well, it means PhysX is now completely dead, since consoles pretty much dictate the market nowadays

I think the best feature about PhysX is that users can pop in a second, older card and use it as a dedicated physics processor. It really is a great idea, I think.

Has anyone seen info that suggests this will support dedicated physics cards (regardless of their brand)?

Requiring a whole other piece of hardware for optimal performance is a "good idea"? To boost sales to suckers, maybe...

Guys, don't lose sight of this: AMD Gaming Evolved seems like an honest and serious push by AMD to get graphics usage up so they can sell more cards and gamers get better effects. It's a win-win. Stop the hate.

You and I both know a dedicated card isn't required to use Physx, but you're just looking for a fight, so whatever.

I agree.

AMD seems to be more serious about gaming than ever. They give me the impression of a company that is very active and that is what matters.

That's why I gave them my money for a 7950 CFX setup, jumping back to their bandwagon being an Nvidia user for the last 2.5 years.

And I didn't say it was. I said "optimal performance".

Required was implied. FYI. The fact is that you do not need a whole other piece of hardware, unless you use and AMD card for your renderer and hack the Nvidia card in, to run PhysX. Optimal or not.

Is there any video of this in action in game ? The screenshots look awesome but I want to see the hair in motion.
