1. Because it looks like a horrible movie.
2. Because almost all the reviews say it's a horrible movie.
3. Because there are much better ways to spend $10+.
4. Because it's directed by Michael Bay, who has only done one good movie in his life (and even that is arguable).
5. Because the first Transformers was a terrible movie.

This one put me to sleep, no joke. I was trying to stay awake the last hour of the movie, but it was tough.

TOOOOOO LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG.

After the first 1 1/2 hours of same old same old, I started getting excited as I thought it just had to end soon. Uhhh, now we're off to Egypt? Okay, must be ending soon then.

Nope, kept going, and going, and going... just like the fuckin energizer bunny, the movie just wouldn't stop!

My gf enjoyed it, but nobody in theater seemed all that sad that it was finally over after 2.5(?) hours. Everyone wanted to get home.

If the movie was cut down to 1.5 hours it would have been barely enjoyable, but this was torture. It felt like the editor didn't want to cut any of those juicy CGI scenes (yawn) as they probably cost a fortune to make, but wait, can't cut the non CGI scenes as the little bit of story that might actually hold some peoples interest would be gone as well.

Now some WTF's.

WTF is with the tans? Looks like the actors were hanging out with guidos in Jersey and put on WAY TOO MUCH fake tanning crap. God they looked awful. I guess the teeny boppers might get a thrill from the "beautiful" actors.

WTF is with all the humvees, airplanes, tanks, aircraft carriers, subs, etc., etc., blah blah blah. After seeing this movie, I realize there is such a thing as too much.

WTF is with all the slo-mo shots of people walking, people running, people staring, people jumping, people diving (now replace the word people with transformers and repeat). ENOUGH with the SLO-MO already! Oh, I forgot, have to get more screen time for the "beautiful" people since they don't have anything interesting to say <Yes, you Mr. MTV guy... Tyreese?>

WTF is with all the "action" music when there was nothing happening? For a good 45 mins to and hour in the middle of the movie there was not a single fight scene or anything to keep your interest, yet the music kept picking up every 2 minutes, I guess to keep everyone from falling asleep. It had the opposite effect on me. (Crying wolf?) I finally started dozing.

That's enough of my time wasted on this crap movie. At least I only had to spend $1.50 to see it. Had I spent $10 - $15 back in the US and I'd probably be a little pissed, but $1.50 for 2.5 hours of ice cold A/C and a nice big comfy chair, can't complain too much.

Frankly, I'm surprised that you are surprised (WTF?) by any of this.

:p

Just got back from watching it and it wasn't that good.

Take the first one and double the fighting scenes, the cheesy love story and cgi and you will get this movie.

One of the robots had a set of testicles...........come on.

some of the fight scenes were really cool though.

This Ain't It Cool review perfectly sums up how I feel about Mudflap and Skids...aka Car Car Binks.

And worst of all, the frightening sidekicks of the film and the mistake this film will most likely be forever known for: Mudflap and Skids, the Stepin Fetchbots of the film. It?s as if Michael Bay looked at Jar Jar Binks and said ?Oh, fuck no. Really? People find THAT offensive? Fuck that, I?ll show them a fucking stereotype they?ll never fucking forget!? And he does.

Oh. My. God.

They speak in clichéd urban slang, tossing around phrases like ?I?m gonna pop a cap in your ass? while fist bumping and mumbling unintelligently in a voice that sounds like a bad Chappelle Show sketch. Then you get a close up. And they each have bug eyes and a gold tooth. Then there?s this jackass comment about them not being able to read. My jaw was on the floor. I mean, if you?re gonna toss out a bad stereotype, at least have the courtesy to make that stereotype a complete badass so as to deflect complaints that this is a deliberately negative portrayal. These mother fuckers are incompetent, bumbling and never, EVER, cool.

I just couldn't understand Bay's focus on Car Car Binks. The remaining Autobots from the first movie got almost no screen time and zero character development outside of Optimus Prime. Bumblebee gets very little and is just a repeat from the first movie (though his fight at the end was cool and his scene at college with Sam and Alice in the car was hilarious). The new additions to the Autobots got absolutely zero character development as well. Sideswipe (the Corvette Stingray with swords) looked positively badass but barely spoke a word or did anything aside from standing around looking badass. The Arcee triplets looked interesting as fembots but got no development and spoke maybe one line.

I wasn't expecting Shakespeare or anything but holy crap was Car Car Binks nearly a film killer.

^this is what i was thinking as well. they shouldve done more with Stingray and less with the hip hop slang twins

"childish" more closely defines the type of personality that enjoys this brainless and idiotic style of action, rather than those that can distinguish between a solid piece of quality work and effort and a colossal waste of money.

I agree with your thoughts on the character development, that they should have done more, but I found the twins to be pretty funny actually, but I believe that's because of age differences.

I don't know why I am defending the movie : I'm not a Transformers fan or anything, I just think that it was an entertaining watch, though nowhere near a great movie. I just get tired of seeing everyone on ATOT saying either A) It was so bad I left or B) I refuse to see this. It is childish. And for walking out, what other things do you have to do at midnight? Go home and look at porn? Going into a movie with a bad attitude and saying to yourself "This is going to be terrible", of course it is going to be that way to you.

Oh and Queasy, none of this is directed at you BTW, you just happened to have a good point that I wanted to touch upon.

Batman was originally a comic. The latest two batman movies were freakin awesome. Should that movie be gayified so kiddies can watch?

Your logic is made of fail.

You also realise that when his offspring grow up they can watch the movie then. I daresay they will be rebelling and smoking pot by then anyway, cause they were smothered as children

I think you're unnecessarily being kind of a dick...but you are absolutely right. The movie was "Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action violence, language, some crude and sexual material, and brief drug material" (from imdb.com) If you're concerned about the contents of a film, well, it says right there what it had in it. You shouldn't take a kid to the movie if you don't feel that stuff is appropriate. Its not like it was rated G for Gumdrops and had hardcore porn in it.

I saw it last night and I was pretty disappointed, though I was not expecting much anyways. I didn't care too much for the first one and the only thing that attracted me to this movie was that form the previews it looked like the Autobots got fucked up (I am a Deceptacon fan). And, while the Autobots did get their asses kicked here and there, it wasn't enough to distract me from seeing how much the movie really sucked; Shia LaDouche is fucking annoying, the movie was too long, too much cheesy humor, bad camera work, bad story and horrible character introduction.

Mainly the movie was just too long I was falling asleep and couldn't wait to get out. It did not need to be two and a half hours long there were plenty of scenes that they could have easily done without. The poor attempt at humor was irritating and Shia LaBeouff and his new side kick did a great job and annoying the hell out of me. The story was lame and thanks to the crappy camera work there were times when you couldn't really make out what was happening; there was one scene in particular in the beginning of the movie where one of the robots is transforming, the camera is zoomed in all the way on it you cant really see what is going on, its obvious that one is transforming but the camera is so close that it just looks like a bunch of shit moving around. My other big problem with the movie was all the new characters. Lets start with those two Autobot twins, oh my God how fucking useless were they, so damn annoying and the CG done on their faces was just terrible. Then they kept introducing more and more Deceptacons and you never knew who the hell they were.

The movie was just plain bad, in the first one you got some good transforming action (thats really all it was good for) in a decent amount of time. In this one you get the same amount of action combined with a shit load of annoying actors and shitty comedy.

a lot of the people who watched it last light, who saw the first one, was already wanting to not like it. they told themselves that it was going to be bad and that is why they try to find faults

I personally loved both, this one being even better than the first.

I'm reading through page 7, and I see that the whole page is pretty much you talking to yourself about a movie that you say you don't care for.

I see why you're a lifer.......and I'll bet money you see this movie just like you saw the first.

What's funny is Michael Bay is still going to use all their money to buy himself another boat or house.

I can't wait to go this weekend. I'll make sure to post back here about how awesome it was too.

I don't know why people go to see movies that they know they won't like. If someone didn't like the first one, why the fuck would they go see the sequel?

I'm glad you liked it. I did not like the first one so I avoided this one.

My only real problem with the movie is that it'll make a lot of money and result in more money going towards more bad Michael Bay movies. That same money could be much better spent on other movies that I'd actually enjoy. And it would really suck if Michael Bay was handed a movie based on something I really like. I never watched Transformers when I was little so I don't care if he "butchered" it.

Hey, I took my (then 6 year old and 4 year old) to see transformers 1. It was awesome, kids liked it. My wife had to wait in a long line at the bathroom at which time she got into a massive argument with some psycho woman who scolded her for being a bad parent for taking such young children to see that scary movie. So..if that lady happens to be on AT, GUESS WHAT..I'm taking my now 8 year old and 6 year old to see the second one, and I hope it is just as action packed as the first.
