Tower Defense games?

I picked up Plants vs. Zombies for $5 and I love that game !! I finished the main part in 3 days and am now working on the rest of the play modes.

Yeah thanks guys. I think defense grid is the name I was looking for. I knew there was another out there on steam, I just had no idea what it was.

Ya I got plants vs zombies a long while ago and beat that already.

If anyone else likes these type of flash games, id highly recommend bloons tower defense 4 I listed in OP. It gets, insanely hard....I have not beat it on any of the official maps yet.

I can't get further than level 22 on this, anyone have any tips? Vectoid or whatever.
Given you got to level 22 you probably arent totally clueless.
Best tip I ever got for any Vector TD games: Blue.
Blue is your key. You need to keep slowing down the invaders EVERY step of the way. Also, level 1 blue's slow down just as well as level 10. Dont bother upgrading to level 10, its a waste of money. Just use lots of them at level 1. Also, forget greens and purples. They are OK but eventually underpowered for the money. And dont make any more Red lasers than absolutely required, dont upgrade them too much. Go for a red rocket ASAP and upgrade it to get extra range, enough range to cross over and hit another path.

ALWAYS go for the interest bonus points. The other bonuses are a waste. All you need is lots of money. Everything works out with lots of money.

Again, red spammer and red rockets are the best value for the money. Use them in a ratio of about 10:1 with the blues. Remember, blues slow down things enough that reds can hammer them 10 times as much as they would without slowdown.

Lemme find you a demo map of a really good setup.

Actually this guy is a little short on the blues. Ideally you wanna start hammering the invaders as soon as they enter the screen ( and start slowing them right away too) and keep hammering them until the very end. I also wouldnt waste time with the green towers. Even at level 10, a type 3 green just isnt that hot. Better to nail green invaders with super powered red towers the entire time they are moving.

With these strategies, most maps are relatively easy all the way up to level 50. Notice how the dude has assloads of cash at the end? He was smart and only spent as much money as he had to, even if it meant letting a bad guy slip through once in a while. The interest piled up.

Wow. Just wow. Thanks for the great advice. That was way more than I was expecting. Awesome. I was building way too many purples because the dmg was the highest. I realized that blues were important, but I wasn't focusing on reds enough. Also I never used the interest bonus, I was using the DMG and RANGE boosters because I figured that would help boost massive damage if correctly placed.

Gonna try your ideas out, I'm sure I'll do better. Thanks.

Still having trouble. I've tried having tons of blues and mostly red spammers and a rocket and just don't have enough firepower. If I use any less blues the sprinters fly right through it and I lose half my lives. The blues don't seem to be powerful enough. I'm not sure how that guy did that in the picture with all the blues. Maybe I should upgrade them a bit.

Which map are you playing?

Saving and bookmarking this thread, but not clicking on anything until after this school semester is over....

Ya thats kind of one of the reasons I started the thread.

On the vector game. Yeah that game gets damn hard. I spent many hours on it and at some point, I just get owned by those "yellow arrows". Ill have to try what you suggested.

I have a love hate relationship with Tower Defense.. especially Vector TD.. I get into playing them.. but after spending too much time all I can think about is what a total waste of time that was.

Then I recommend Bloons TD 4 (link in OP). Its relatively fun and zany and you dont feel guilty about playing it.
