Which map are you playing?

Pathways. Level 30 is about as far as I can get. I don't have a screen shot but my setup is basically blues and red spammers lined up near and around the first turn/bottleneck. I have one red rocket set up in about the middle of the map that can fire on vectors just about anywhere with its huge range. I always get owned by the yellow sprinters. I have so many blues but they just don't seem to be enough. They barely do enough damage and the Red Rocket's rate of fire is so slow that it doesn't own enough of them before they fly through. I am still looking for the best combination of red/blue.

I haven't played Vector TD 2 in a looooooooong time, but I played during lunch to try to get some screenshots for at least a mediocre strategy. I was a bit stingy early on (trying to get the most out of interest) and thus was left with 2 lives by level 30. I did manage to lose no more lives until level 49, but the last yellow flyers got the best of me. I think that losing the lives early on made me play it so safe the rest of the game that I missed out on a lot of interest.

My main strategy has always been to put red rockets and 2nd-tier purple lasers in the middle with blues all the way around (I probably could've gone with half as many blues). I only put the green on the right, because I misjudged one level and was going to lose more lives than I had without it. I usually don't use green except for early in the game. As others have said, the main trick is interest. If you can spend as little money as possible, then there are levels that will yield thousands of dollars in interest. Without that, I don't know if it's possible to win the game.

Anyways, I'll let my screenshots explain my strategy better:

Thanks. My school doesn't allow me to view bbzzdd.com for some reason but I'll check it out once I get home.

One thing I was being stupid about that I now see is that you are supposed to send the vectoids BEFORE making any upgrades. I was never doing that.

That definitely makes a difference. Also make sure to choose the interest upgrade on the gray levels before sending the next vectoids. I've also noticed that most of the towers are most effective when set on close. I'll sometimes change them to hard or weak if the situation warrants it, but close is my de facto setting.
