I personally prefer newsgroups for downloading faster and being more discrete, but torrents are available faster and have a wider selection. Besides loading 70 days of headers takes a while.

There would have to be a cerain amount of trust there. But in all honesty, I could give you tasks for files you could never find in newsgroups. Thats the difference, I have access to newsgroups - ALL of them because their ALL public. And so I would be able to search for things before I gave you the task, and then I know you couldn't find them. Whereas, I have access to many, many resources that you probably don't have access to - and so I would have an unfair advantage.

Thats the main point I wanted to make - I was waiting to have someone call me out on it so I could start an pwned thread because there is really no way I could lose. The rare argument is valid, and there are things you simply can't find on Newsgroups period, that I can find and have found using various BT resources.

And the whole Speed argument against BT is the same thing, the people saying these things in this thread simply don't have resources or they would know thats not true.

There would have to be a cerain amount of trust there. But in all honesty, I could give you tasks for files you could never find in newsgroups. Thats the difference, I have access to newsgroups - ALL of them because their ALL public. And so I would be able to search for things before I gave you the task, and then I know you couldn't find them. Whereas, I have access to many, many resources that you probably don't have access to - and so I would have an unfair advantage.

Thats the main point I wanted to make - I was waiting to have someone call me out on it so I could start an pwned thread because there is really no way I could lose. The rare argument is valid, and there are things you simply can't find on Newsgroups period, that I can find and have found using various BT resources.

And the whole Speed argument against BT is the same thing, the people saying these things in this thread simply don't have resources or they would know thats not true.

Ok. Please name something you want me to find but you look for first on newsgroups that I can try finding.

Me versus *insert supposed NNTP expert*, we will name off random media of all kinds and go find it. I can guarentee that I could name many, many things that you would never find on newsgroups. And probably wouldn't get even after weeks or even months of requesting on various groups - which I could find within minutes.

EDIT: you wont believe me but i have never requested anything from a newsgroup in 6yrs of using them.

You name something and send me a screen shot of where you found it on NNTP. And I'll name something and send you a screen shot of where I found it on BT, each of us will try to find that something and send the screenshots back. Any rules or whatever we can work out.

I don't want people to not beable to see the proof and then not beable to judge which is better.

I think that should be obvious, anyone who wants the proof can PM me for it - I won't be posting screen shots on a thread that will just be locked because of it. That would be frivilous, just like your attempt at using Ad Muncher, when as I said - I could just download it and seed it - and you could just download it and up it to any newsgroup. I'm not about to participate if thats how pointless your idea's are.
