Toronto sucks, but everyone there will tell you it's the greatest place on earth, that's about all you need to know.

Unfortunately I will be going there in June.

They even said sorry. That is true Canadian.

As for places to visit, the CN tower is pretty cool. I've only been to Toronto a few times so that's about all I know.

Nothing Canadian about Tanebaum apologising, it's about pretending to care.

If you like sports, eating and drinking ice cold pints check out real sports bar and grill. It's a good place to watch sports, eat and drink ice cold pints.

what kind of food?

Anything good really, but preferably something upscale. I can figure out cheap eats myself just by wandering around, unless there is some great place I need to seek out.

I don't do upscale

I did enjoy Morton's but I am sure you have been to Morton's elsewhere.

Heh, ok. Well is there anything else good to try out? Any great breakfast places or anything?

I really like La Palette on Queen west. French bistro specializing in game meat.

Buca for Italian. Nota Bene for uh "Canadian".

Avoid Toronto "sushi".

Oh yeah, David Lee runs Nota Bene! May need to check that one out; always sounded good and the menu looks nice.

La Palette looks like it would be right up my alley. Will definitely skip the sushi there.

Thanks for the recs! If anyone has more, please post them!

La Bruschetta up on St. Clair is one of my favourite Italian restaurants.

http://www.susur.com/ if you are into Susur Lee

Yeah I'm not sure about Susur; been following him for years, but have never eaten at any of his restaurants. I'm concerned that it's more style over substance with him at this point. Also Asian-Fusion kind of drives me a bit nuts now.

La Bruschetta looks good, particularly the pasta. That Rigatoni Boscaiola sounds freaking awesome.

Been to a ton of restaurants around Toronto. Typical spread of great and mediocre. For a great different experience I would recommend O'Noir. Great food, unique atmosphere.

Make a reservation at Shinobu (3403 Yonge St) and ask for omakase, which means that the chef decides the menu. You can decide how much you want to spend, but it's at least $35 per head (last I checked). Great place.

He's from Vancouver. There's no way he should have sushi in Toronto :p
