I got still and Video pics of 2 of the Tornadoes, you can even hear the roar of the Tornado that just passed north of me. I couldn't hear the roar of the southern storm because the sound of the Golf Ball sized hail was so loud. Our Caravan has dimples on the roof and hood now but luckily did not break the windows. They will feature my pictures in the Lake Lanier Magazine that comes out next Wednesday and it will be in tomorrow's paper. You can see the pics at RiverElan.com.

umm, tornados on the ground generally do take everything in their path. We just had a mile wide tornado go south of us and tear up much of an apartment complex here in lawrence.

What's with all the tornados recently? I don't remember that many when I was young. Now they seem to come out every year. Just recently there was one at the University at Maryland that took the lives of two sisters.

It's the way this front has stalled over the mid-south region. Moisture and warm air riding up one side and cooler/dryer air on the other. Perfect recipe.

yep, stalling pretty hard here in KY. Calming down somewhat.

Increased surface winds due to less resistance. I won't go into why there is less resistance, it should be painfully obvious.
Storm systems that used to take 5 days to transverse the country 20 years ago now only take 2 days.

What an annoying day that was too! I was working and every other minute it was announced "Code Yellow STAT. Code Yellow STAT." Off course, all patients who were not connected to machines and who could walk (yeah, lemme see...about 2?) had to get in their bathrooms. What a pain in my butt! The others had to be moved in their beds as far away from the windows as possible. Sigh. Of course, then they panicked and had chest pain and you name it! I was never so happy to get home. :)

No, actually most tornadoes are not F3+ so they do not take everything it their path.
