The only problem I have with those tests is that seeing how long a phone can survive reloading web pages every 30 seconds with the screen on until the battery dies doesn't really represent anybody's normal daily use of a phone. And with an app for just about everything, there's less and less need to actually do web browsing, so to me it's even less useful. I have no idea how you would try and measure regular use though. Maybe have someone use one phone for a week, and then the other phone the next week? Of course that leaves it open to discrepancies and other variables.
That's not how they test. Some of the tests are how long it can go playing video...
