So a rom manager being high in the list means no one buys anything? That makes no sense. It's high because people buy it and want it. If they didn't want to it they could return it. Can't do that on iOS. Your stuck with whatever crappy app you get. What this shows like already said is that Android users like to be more productive.

You're delusional lol.

iPhone users get enjoyment out of their device.

Android users try to get desperately to get a device that's useable.

Ha! Your flying pig pro-Apple troll style is getting tiresome... but this still made me laugh.

Top 10 paid Android apps - things to make your keyboard, OS, home screen, etc not suck.

LOL, denial sometimes does seem like a river around here.

Flexibility? LMAO, when I had a Droid, I had to buy those things because otherwise, I would have thrown the thing out of the window.

Keep wishing on your Google star. It's hilarious when Google fans can't admit to the total shit-ass crap that they put out when Apple users (like me) will readily admit to the many things we want improved on iOS. But it can be nice to have a keyboard to input text when Google lovers have to look high and low for ways to get a useable one.

Lots of texting going on with the iPhone because the screen is too small to do anything useful with graphics. But at least you have the choice of white now, that should help.

So... If iOS allowed you to customize the interface, you wouldn't do it because the stock one is already perfect?

Of course not. There is no interface, hardware or software, that is optimal for EVERYONE. Some people like certain keyboards, others like different ones. Some people prefer certain widgets on their home screen, some prefer other ones, some prefer none at all.

So, the fact that the customizable apps are so popular, in no way correlates into meaning the OS itself is crap.

Popular changes from factory - means factory is unpopular. Does that correlate into the OS itself is crap? Fuck yea, do you know basic logic or what correlate means?

Android users were never quite too bright.

Apps can't replace the core functions on an iPhone. So you can't change the keyboard or the music player, but the iPhone has the best implementation of both.

Weather on the iPhone isn't too great, but there are some weather apps that help with that.

The iPhone's stock music player doesn't support a ton of formats including flac, that makes it far from the best IMO.

What Android keyboard's have you actually tried? I'm guessing not very many.

It means (like we already know) that developers will make more money on iOS because people actually buy things.

The fact that ROM managers are so high considering that the vast majority have no use for them and will never use them hammers this point home even more.

All of the apps listed are paid apps.

No point in this comparison because iPhone doesn't have apps to change the stock keyboard and whatnot.

A lot of people who buy Android devices are just your average consumer who probably doesn't even look in the market place. They just use the stock apps that come with the phone. The other group that does buy apps are the ones who like to hack and tweak their device. Hence why hacking/customizing apps sell so highly in the marketplace. Not to mentioned this list is about paid apps. For the most part games on android are free/ad supported.

And the people who buy iPhones are basically ALL average consumers who do look in the App Store and buys stupid fucking applications like Angry Birds.

What point are you trying to make?

So you're saying there is no selling point to an Android phone since average consumers simply buy them because carriers give them away for free.

Ding ding ding. (The other portion of the Android buyers are the nerd ragers, as seen in this thread).

No I'm saying the Apple app store is the most matured in the market. The Android market is good as well, but it will take time for the market to realize that.

On a personal note; I don't mind you but when it comes to anything Apple related you're a total bitch.

I don't think you understood me... :hmm: I own an iphone, not an android so I'm a little unsure what you're getting at. *shrugs*

Ah well, trolls will be trolls. Even with 2 mods here we can't stop everybody. Sad state of affairs the phone community is in. :(

I take a while to catch up with all the posts. Infractions and warnings have been given to where they were deserved. Let's please get back to the topic - whether there is significance or not to the apps people buy on Android vs. iOS.

Isn't the significance that the top iOS paid apps and games are mostly free with advertisements on Android and thus not appearing on this list of top paid Android software? Either developers don't make as many free options for iOS or iOS users are less willing to tolerate advertising on their platform.

I don't know the reasoning behind iPhone having paid vs free. But I have a feeling it may be along the lines of Apple pushing things behind the scenes. Just like a iphone 3gs is cheaper to make than most android phones yet cost more to buy because Apple will not allow it to be free.

Rovio prefers ad supported over paid app as it generates more revenue over time.

Though both models generate revenue, the ad-based model is preferable to the paid app model, according to Rovio_One deciding factor is updates which are necessary to keep fans interested in the game. With iOS, updates are available for free to those who already purchased this app. All revenue for Rovio is generated on this first purchase only. With Android, revenue is generated throughout the life of the game – from the original version and through all future updates advertising is present.

People love to customize. Android gives you a great many customization options right out of the box without needing to root your device. You have to jailbreak your iPhone before you can do any customizing.

I've owned and used devices from both sides and they are both good. You fanboys need to get a life.
