I test drove an Evo about a month ago, it was advertised for $26,995. But I think that they're both ~$31k on average.

The evo 8 isn't an expensive car, it's right on with the STi in price...neither of which are all that costly.

Not to mention, a merciluego makes a 12.0 flat, and an evo 8 can't make faster than that. stock.

Uhh... why?

I've driven both. The STi is an awesome car, a complete package. The Evo8 is kinda like a turbo Civic. Sure, it's fast... but it's still a Civic, and feels it. In the same way, an Evo8 still feels like a cheap Lancer... just all modded out. The STi does not feel that way.

But compared to the Murcielago, the Evo costs a fortune! So you're saying that the cheaper Murcielago outperforms the tycoon's Evo? What a bargain!
