okay, probably posting in the wrong forum...oh well. LOL

clicky for explanation on why these 5 games are addicting!


UPDATED: okay, apparently you all don't like MSNBC's list, so i've added a brand spankin' *NEW* poll with lots more to choose from (geez AT, y'all are high maintenance!). so vote vote vote! :D

All of the above either catch my attention for no longer than an hour, or aren't worth playing at all. Deus Ex gets my vote, for pure replayability value.

EDIT: Seriously, how is Doom addictive? A game being innovative (which Doom wasn't in the least anyways) does not make it addictive and neither does people still playing it long after the release date. Otherwise Pong, Asteroids, and such should be up there. Of course, it is MSNBC.

the most addictive game for me so far was Quake 2 CTF. Actually Quake 1 and 2 got me hooked, but Q2CTF was the greatest. I kind of miss it

I chose Tetris. I still play it at least once a week. :p Have it on my computer and on my phone. Games like EverQuest, DiabloII, CounterStrike... they're certainly addicting, but once I've had my fill (pwnt every noob, finished every quest, beaten the final boss a gazillion times)... that's it. I will NEVER get tired of Tetris though. Never ever... ever.

Are you including counterstrike in Half-life? If not you missed counterstrike which I would say is the most addicting right under WOW and evercrack.

all of the Civs.

they're probably the only game that I could play all night and not even realize the time passing until I start hearing birds (in fact, I've done so many times :eek:)

I just started playing Civ 4 and it's ridiculous how fast the time flies when playing that game. You ALT-TAB, lock at the clock, and realize 7 hours has already flew by.
