hah. sure buddy.

there's more than catchy hooks and riffs ;)

I have them right up there beside pink floyd in all time awesomeness.

I'll bet you sure do.

I started listening to tool like 2 yrs ago, it completely changed the way I think about music.

lmao...
how did you think about music before?

ja1484's post hit the nail on the head with that quote from some article or something.

First of all, I discovered the beauty of bass guitar, something I didn't notice before.
Secondly, intelligent lyrics about human psychology.
Thirdly, I notice the drummer's skills now, instead of boring linear drumming I can feel that Tool's drummer is alive.
Fourth = development of atmosphere. The songs don't burn out after a few great notes.

No, seriously, start reading.

I've read this like a year ago. It's funny, well because it's supposed to be a humor site. This is the same site where a guy posted a post about how he was sniffing his sister's panties and then got caught..

Tool got me into the exploration of music, I've found so many great(by other artists) songs I've never heard before.

Tool is greater than pop because they are actually artists, not salesmen. They aren't selling you a slick new product that will entertain you for 5 minutes. They produce an album you can listen to hundreds of times and still enjoy.

Yeah, you totally figured it out and the rest of us just don't get it.

Maybe, but considering all your anti tool stuff comes from one article written as a joke, I'm not going to take you too seriously. I don't consider maynard a god, I know he has crazy haircuts, insane mood swigs, a former heroin addiction and masturbated in an overcoat on stage. But fuck it, he's an artist, and all the best artists are nuts.

Wow, that was a great read! Thanks for the link.

I voted Aenima; I absolutely adore Stinkfist, among the rest of the album.

Am I the only tool fan that doesn't like 10,000 days? :p

The problem with 10,000 days is there's 17 minutes worth of filler crap that I can't stand:

Lipan Conjuring (ugh)
Lost Keys
Intension
Vigniti Tres

The rest of it is amazing though.

The problem with it is that it's B-sides from Lateralus that took 6 years to come out. Not worth the wait in my opinion for such little innovation. Also a big minus sign for terrible lyrics on a lot of the songs.

Plus the sound went back to being all smashed against 0 dB. Part of Lateralus' greatness was that it had room to breathe.

You're not paying attention. It's not anti-Tool stuff. As I've stated, I like Tool and own several albums.

It's anti-Tool fan.

And yes, a lot of artists are crazy, which is all the more reason not to take their little self-important delusions seriously.

Aenima was my favorite until I started listening to Undertow. Now Undertow is my favorite followed by Aenima. I alternate between Lateralus and 10,000 Days.

Paul D'amour's tone on that cd is so ridiculous. I like to listen to salival though just for "no quarter"

Yes! That is one of my all time favorites for bass. Awesome album, as long as you skip song 3.

Black was Metallica's most mainstream accessible album. 10k Days is quite the opposite.

Acting like any Tool or Metallica isn't mainstream accessible is just funny. They are the mainstream.

Metallica is now. The first three albums were not played on the radio or MTV. The fourth had one song on MTV occasionally. Enter Sandman was their first "radio" song. The Black Album was their first "Mainstream" release, and quite a departure for them. Most people that were around when the first three came out consider the black album as the end of their career.

As a side note, I believe that MOP was the first album to go platinum without radio play.

I find it funny an ironic that you are 10x more self righteous than the so called self righteous tool fans that you seem to hate so much. LOL @ you

Yeah, I'm completely self-righteous, and not just pointing out the idiocy in Indyer-than-thou music morons.

You seem to have trouble with definitions: I'm not displaying self-righteousness, I'm displaying sarcasm. Look 'em up. There's nothing wrong with tool. People are just deluding themselves pretending they're anything more than mainstream rock music.

It's all entertainment, it's all equally worth very little. I really couldn't care less what you think of my attitude. Have a nice day!
