My employers have ultimately told me, I don't give a shit what you do as long as you get your shit done and attend meetings that you're expected to be prep'd for presenting.

Latest employer doesn't even have me doing a timecard or any other crap. Though part of the reason I was doing timecards previously was for billing client hours.

Haha I’ve had union guys get paid more than 24 hours in one day because of on call compensation rules. I can’t remember the numbers but each clock in to answer a question or fix something was guaranteed like 2 hours pay but they didn’t overlap. The math was sort of weird but basically they could take 10 calls/pages/email projects and end up with 28 hours pay for a 24 hour day. Something about if the got summoned to do something within the first hour and within the final moments of their day.
Sweet gig those guys had but I know occasionally it would be 3 days of hell.
