Too hot for CPU?

I meant the power supply part 🙂

Did I say I know everything? I only know about the side panels.

What they are suggesting is just removing the one side panel temporarily, just to see if it helps bring the CPU temps down. If it does help, then that is proof that the single case fan is inadequate. You can reinstall the panel afterwards.

Take the panel off while the computer is on?

Ah okay, any suggestion where I should place it in order to get the maximum CPU cooled down? I already have a big blue LED fan in the front

As I stated earlier:

Look at the back of the case. See the grill at the top? That's where you put one fan (size 80mm up to 120mm). Make sure that is blowing OUT. Use the fan header at the rear of the motherboard labeled "cha_fan".

Look at the top of the case. See the two grills? Put one in the front grill. Make sure that is blowing IN.

If you only add one extra case fan, add it to the rear.

Here, get two of these. Nothing wrong with the one's you linked earlier, except for their price. There are two cheaper fans here and here, but the first doesn't move a lot of air and the second is loud.

Well since I can only get one, I'm going to have take this

Although I can't take off my side panel right now, I started to download Killing Floor about 20 seconds ago, my CPU temperature went from 40*C to 48*C. Is that a clear "symptom" showing my fan isn't working?

Edit: Going to sleep now, will check in about 10 hours.

Why can you only get one? The price of two of those (98x2=196) is roughly equivalent to one of the fans (185) you said you could get earlier. Either way, get what you can, but definitely get something.

As for those temps, yes, something is not working very well. I would expect a small bump in temps, but not that much just for downloading files.

EDIT>> To keep cost down, you could get one of these (79) for the rear and one of these (98) for the top (79+98=177).

Mainly because I only have one 3-pin plug and have no idea where the second plug is going.

But if I don't get a cooler/case fans forever, how long would my CPU last?

EDIT: Several of my friends say the stock cooler on my CPU is pretty much a horseshit dipped in molten lava, puked by a fat lady.

that's certainly not true as i have the same cpu as you and had it overlooked at 4.4GHz on stock and it barely reached temps like yours so there wrong ?
