Can we get the mods to change the title of this thread to something more factual, like "Stoned sprint car driver runs out on the track and gets run over?"

Glad everyone can shut up about this and stop asking me about it. You'd think I was the only NASCAR fan in New Jersey and I swear everything still thinks I know something they don't.

I'm fine with this verdict, I just hope Stewart enjoys sleeping in his huge bed and never worries about the fact that his immaturity and aggression/nonverbal gesture killed a young racecar driver. I'm sure Tony himself has never gotten outside his car on a track over petty shit, right?

Also Lol@ posters thinking being rich or being tony himself made a difference in the verdict. My dad raced sprint cars for 35 years; he's been around so long, he's raced with quite a few of the most seasoned drivers. If he had ever got injured on the track/injured someone else and officials found out he smoked pot (he did and still does), I and my family know he/we wouldn't have any legal argument. They ban drivers for taking un-prescribed adderall, what makes you think they don't test for pot?

That being said, do I think it played any significant factor in the accident? Nope. Witness testimony sealed this, and judging by the average nascar fan I'd bet they don't even know what they saw. To sprint car drivers, it was pretty clear tony was goosing the throttle to give him a "fuck you" and misjudged the distance between his car and Ward.

All you Tony Stewart haters go pound sand.

So many ATers rushed to Judgement that he was guilty.

The Ward family can forget about a Civil suit too.

The kid was high as a kite and should not have been driving then or ever.

Tony Stewart not charged by grand jury in death of Kevin Ward Jr

The grand jury announced Wednesday that there was no evidence of a criminal act.

By New York state law, any case that possibly involves felony charges must go to a grand jury for a possible indictment

Tantillo said "two dozen" people were interviewed in the case and said that Ward had marijuana in his system and that the amount found was "enough to impair judgment."

Ward family will try and sue even though their son was stoned:

Kevin Ward Jr.'s family issues statement saying 'the matter is not at rest'

The family of Kevin Ward Jr. issued a statement Wednesday afternoon that strongly hinted at a civil lawsuit after an Ontario County (N.Y.) grand jury said that it would not indict Tony Stewart in Ward's death on Aug. 9.

The marijuana revelation, previously unreported, provided new evidence that transferred the focus of responsibility from Stewart back to Ward, something his family took issue with.

"Our son got out of his car during caution when the race was suspended. All the other vehicles were reducing speed and not accelerating except for Stewart, who intentionally tried to intimidate Kevin by accelerating and sliding his car toward him, causing the tragedy. The focus should be on the actions of Mr. Stewart. This matter is not at rest and we will pursue all remedies in fairness to Kevin.”

Stewart was not subject to toxicology reports but Tantillo said the NASCAR star met with a drug recognition expert after the incident and there was no basis to believe that Stewart was under the influence of anything. According to New York law, a person who isn't arrested cannot be compelled to submit a toxicology sample.

He was not stoned according to another report. Finding traces in his system is what they reported, but he was not stoned at the time.

I don't think him being stoned or not has a thing to do with anything. Being drunk on the other hand yes I'd agree. Anyone blaming pot is a fucking retard.

What are you trying to say here...........that white rednecks can be dumb and stupid?

How dare you!

I dont understand how AT allows this kind of racial stereotyping but will not allow any other non-white racial stereotyping.

as a dumb, stupid, and white redneck, I am offended.

Don't go down that road man. I tried it once and was hastily pushed aside. Double standards exist all over the world and ATOT is no exception.

it's against whites. its all good. the mods don't give a shit.

personally allowing racist remarks one way and not banning both just encourage those real racist to come with other words such as "savages" was a while ago.

You have an issue with moderation? You know exactly where to take it. Moderator Discussions. You've been told enough times.

Ah, once again.....the internet is awash with idiots thinking they know what happened when it's likely they don't have a clue about much outside of the goo on their keyboards.

Well by this action, I'm glad they suffered the loss of their son, they deserve it.

And the video with mono sound from one perspective thousands of miles away that they watched 57 times in a row and are thus experts on the incident.

Meh, if anything pot does not make someone angrier of hostile and I think it played zero part in the events of that night although being stoned and driving in a sprint race is probably not a great idea LOL..
