I just know since Ubi wasn't going to do a true beta, the placated some of the preorder guys with a closed Alpha, locked behind an NDA. Now, the footage they are showing is only console footage and it doesn't look bad. From what I've heard from reviews of hands on with the PC version, it looks spectacular. Now, that could be a shill effect or it could be simply on an insane PC on ultra, but that isn't known. We don't even know if the alpha build that this footage (as low quality as it is) that is coming out is even close to the current or final build.


But, that doesn't really matter to the internet. If it doesn't look like a prerendered video shown before real development had started, it's bad and dumbed down for consoles.

how? I got an email when I signed up for beta and it says:
You now have guaranteed access to the Tom Clancy's The Division™ Beta!
We will send you your key via email when the beta begins.



i have no new emails or keys or anything in uplay regarding the beta
 
because your reading compression is shit?
internet saying HURRAY you can preload with no specification of on what system, i relayed that information only to find out later that its limited to consoles, i sorry
 
If you bought it on Steam, the beta shows up in your library, but isn't available for download yet. Maybe sometime before it will be preloadable?

i had just started it, its sitting at 4 now, fastest i ever get is 5 or 6 off steam

pretty much the limit to whats available here, no possible way to get a faster connection without paying 500$ a month for a business line

also it makes no difference regardless, start DL, go to work/go to sleep, its done when im back
 
Pre-loaded it and appears to be about 27GB in size installed. According to my router, I've downloaded around 28GB today so it's not really compressed.
 
If you go into the properties tab and scroll down to game version, you'll see the option to test it now if you got the code from ubi:

Microsoft enforces game footage parity each time they use a Ubisoft launch to push their console.
While still periodically spamming the "we care about PC" statements. Journalists and youtubers said they weren't allowed to record or even talk about PC footage.

Ubisoft may have something here. I've approached the game with low expectations, after watching game footage for the past few days, I'm looking forward to the start of beta.
Seamless single/multiplayer transition without loading screens or server menus has potential.
I expected a shallow 3rd person shooter but the game has depth to it.

At least Ubi is confident enough to launch a massive beta. Remembering that a petition was needed for the PC version to exist, I wonder just how short the visuals would have fallen of the infamous E3 footage if there never were a PC version...
 
Redeemed my beta code on the site. got a message that said they would email me before the beta starts. Opened up UPLAY and the game isnt even in my library so I cant pre-load it. No clue whats going on.

EDIT: It's there now, just took some time.

Got a key from Nvidia. Thanks DarkKnightDue for posting that link. Going to check it out. I have high hopes for this game. Been watching it for a couple years.
