I dont agree

I dont agree with Brady's political views, but I do think he has been fairly reasonable in not trying to force them down anyone's throat.

If you can show me where I said or even think he's waved his political beliefs around in people's faces feel free to do so. I don't think he has. It doesn't matter to me. I root against MAGA. And rooting for Mahomes is easy anyway - young, fresh talent that is a joy to watch play.

what asterisk?

are you the only person anywhere that has determined that he wasn't already the GOAT? and why?

Yeah, I know you can't see this. You've put 70% of us on ignore.

I would personally say an asterisk will always apply to Brady/Belichick due to the repeated allegations of cheating over the years.

Even so, anything that happens this season aside he IS clearly the GOAT in terms of longevity and compiling numbers. Raw physical talent for a single or even a few seasons otoh he's only in my top 10.

Politics don't even enter into who I pick to win a football game... Brady could be single-handedly responsible for Trump's defeat in November and I STILL wouldn't root for him!

And yeah I tried really hard to not like Mahomes ... just couldn't do it! :D

Obviously, Brady is severely lacking in physical talent as far as mobility goes. The only place he is (was) outstanding physically is passing accuracy and decent arm stength. His biggest assets are mental toughness, ability to read defenses, and ability to inspire team mates. And also his durability. Even for a pocket passer, he is really adept at avoiding injury.

They didn't matter to me either until the last couple years in how I rooted for teams, until Trumpism really manifested itself. Now I take it into account for anything.

Mahomes is definitely likeable. Plus just real fun to watch. There was one play in the championship game where he was being tackled and twisted and still got the throw off for a good gain. The way he fakes rushers out and then makes the throw is just a pleasure to watch as well.

To be fair I didn't say anything about politics not affecting how much I LIKE a player/coach/franchise or how much I WANT them to win!

;)

If you ask me to pick a winner, (even if it's Big Blue) you'll be getting 100% logic without any fan-bias. I can completely hate a sports team in every way and still pick them to win.

This can work out well in fact since there will inevitably be a time where you'll pick a team to win that you utterly despise (happened a lot with the Pats for me!) but pull hard for the other guys that you actually like!

It's a "no-lose" scenario! :p

Yea, I was hoping the AFC championship would be a shoot out showcase of the new style of mobile quarterbacking, with Allen and Mahomes. I was surprised at Allen though. He sort of had that "deer in the headlights" look. Amazingly, several times he just stood still as a statue in the pocket looking for a receiver. I know KC was covering the receivers well, but I just wanted to yell "Run the Ball" when he couldn't find a receiver.

I was sort of rooting for the Bills, since they have never won a Super Bowl, and unless he gets injured, Mahomes will almost certainly have plenty more chances. I agree though, Mahomes is probably the most exciting QB to watch and seems like a decent guy to root for as well. It just amazes me that Rogers got MVP (is it for sure yet?) over Mahomes.

I was rooting for the Bills too. I think it would have made for a more competitive Super-bowl if nothing else.

The Chiefs were clearly the better team last week but a lot of it was mental. The Bills were "in the Bahamas" and never really showed up for that game which was a shame. They went away from what got them there and never made any effective in-game adjustments.

KC is just better and would likely have won even a tightly contested shootout but that's not what this game was unfortunately.

Biggest factor in the game beyond the x's and o's was experience or lack thereof for Allen/Buffalo. To sum the AFC Championship game up for the Bills, they met a superior opponent, got punched in the mouth and then the wheels came off.

No worries Bills fans ... once the smoke clears you'll realize there's nothing to do but be absolutely thrilled with the 2020 season you've had and extremely optimistic about the future!

:)

The GOAT got a 7th ring!
I was rooting for Brady, although I like Mahomes and the Chiefs as well. Somehow, it was not a very satisfying win. A good part of it was the officiating, which to put it mildly seemed to favor the Bucs. I was glad to see Gronk get a couple of TDs and another long gainer. Felt sorry for Mahomes and the beating he took, but was still amazed at some of the throws he made near the end of the game (while scrambling for his life while obviously hurting) that were almost completed.

The NFC East, except for Dallas, needs to be great again so Thomas get his Laundry Limo's tires punctured.

I rooted against Brady yesterday, but this morning can't help but laugh. He killed it yesterday. Goddamn, he's the GOAT!

I tell you, I think it was a mistake to watch all the hype before the game. They had no incentive to tell it like it was. It only became clear during the game: Mahomes wasn't himself because of that toe injury (surgery in the off season, maybe today!), and the seriously weakened O line of the Chiefs, they spelled the fact that the Chiefs were very much the underdog yesterday. Romo saying (multiple times) that it would come down the the last play(s), was just hype.

I think I should get my fix ahead of the game of what to expect from sources other than the network broadcasting it!
