First, I agree with the ruling for the reasons the judge gave. However, the ruling really has nothing to do with whether or not Brady and/ or the Patriots cheated from what I can see. That issue really has not and probably never will be settled 100%.

I'm past the point of caring by now. Time for Ohio State football which is the only professional team I follow these days

As an NFL fan I want to see all the players play whenever possible, if we had the Texans on our schedule I would not want to see Watt sidelined for 4 games because he had used an illegal cleat or some other bullshit. I don’t know Lester Munson personally, and I have no reason to question his intelligence or lack thereof. Except, that is, for the fact that he was once suspended by the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission in a case that included a finding that he failed to maintain separate accounts for client funds from settlements and for his business expenses.

Which, as any lawyer can tell you, is incredibly uninformed.

Another thing about overturning, judges HATE having their rulings overturned, and that makes it very rare that it happens. Given the media publicity, i expect the judge was extra careful. Another lawyer pointed out that when you go appeal a decision against you, it's not like it's a 50/50 proposition, you are actually going into the appeal at a disadvantage and you have to have a VERY convincing case to overturn the initial ruling.

There could have been relevant texts to another party, and the reason people took issue with the cell phone was the destruction which prevented any additional checks on it.

The only thing of importance at this point is the owners realizing just how bad Goodell is making the NFL look and to replace him or let him stick to marketing efforts where he is probably good at. Keep in mind former commissioner's Tagliabue and Rozelle both had the authority to dispense justice but neither of them did so very often. You know it's bad when most people believe Brady knew something but did a huge double-take when Goodell was caught lying and public opinion began to sway for Brady despite the fact that most thought he was guilty. Brady, (apparently) was willing to take a game and a hefty fine and call it done with but nooooooo, ego-driven Goodell HAD to have TB12 admit to his $5 mil Wells report and refused this offer. What baffles me is that Berman had twice used your legal team and Goodell as punching bags like Stallone does to the beef side in Rocky and you still thought you were going to win this decision?, unreal.

I think Brady had good reason why he shouldn't provide his cell phone that doesn't have anything to do with deflategate: there was probably lots of embarrassing things on his phones that he didn't want to get out that had nothing to do with football whatsoever, and that was proven when his emails were released to the public. I know i sure as hell wouldn't want any of my communications public for people to gawk at and i think most people would be embarrassed to have their private life made public like that.

They got the relevant texts they needed.
