question, don't they share the balls? so like, those under-inflated balls would end up on Colt's hand and to their advantage.

Under Inflated balls are easier to throw and catch. Patriots throw the ball more. Colts have a running game.

This is such a non-event. I feel for sorry for Brady, that this is going to take away some of his thunder.

you never know man. Bounty gate was definately worse but this is Belicheats second offense. He may have had some words with the commish about if this happens again so there may be some legal language about what constitutes and would be considered a second offense.

I think a lackey is gonna get sacrificed to the gods in the morning.

half a season suspension? Not gonna happen. Picks I bet.

I think they should be forced to replay the game...with footballs controlled by the NFL...and played this time in Indy.

would be the most epic thing EVER

Obviously, the NFL can't force the Pats to "forfeit" their win to the Colts...no one would stand for that, especially as lopsided as the game was, but replaying it just seems like the fairest way to settle the issue.

Of course, that ain't gonna happen either.

Yeah at worst will be draft picks...seems so petty to push for such a small potential benefit

2 psi out of 13 doesn't seem like much. Could be due to temperature if it was inflated in a warm room, and measured in the cold outdoors once the balls cooled down.
http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a12786/cold-weather-deflates-tires/
Air pressure in a tire typically goes down 1-2 pounds for every 10 degrees of temperature change.
Of course tires are inflated to 35 psi. But if going from 70F room to 30F field, and scaling by the pressure difference:
2psi * ((70-30) / 10) * (13psi/35 psi) = 3 psi.
So 2psi is well within that range.

OK, the Patriots may have done something outside the rules, and that's unacceptable... but I don't care if the Colts used regular balls and the Patriots used origami footballs, the Patriots are still winning that game. It was 45-7. Does anyone on Earth legitimately believe that's solely because of a few pound feet of air pressure in a ball?

It actually has a huge benefit on both throwing and catching. I'm talking major. If any of their 2/3rd down conversions came from a tough catch then absolutely.
My pop-warner (middle school) coaches would intentionally slightly under-inflate footballs so the passing game would be easier. The difference is that both teams shared the footballs. Kicking wasn't as responsive, however. More accurate sure, but less power.

Yes and I think they have been doing it since 2001. Had they not been doing this they would have had 0-16 records every single year

So it helped Blount hold the ball while he carried it 30 times? :D Totally do not care at all.

yup

NFL rulebook states 25k per person responsible for tampering with balls.

I bet they lose draft picts.

they are gonna CUT EM with a shiv and let em bleed a little roster wise.

I bet 2-3 picks including 1st rounder gets taken away.

members of the Ravens on twitter are complaining about balls too.

All of a sudden the nfl is tea bagging each other

So the Ravens knew of under-inflated balls and waited till now to complain? what a F-ing joke, your team lost due to the fact of your QB throwing one of the worst passes in playoff history. What I want to know is how could the balls be deflated without anyone seeing it happen and how could the officials let them play for an entire half without noticing?. Dumb idea by the Pats (if they are found guilty of tampering with said balls) but does anyone really think it would have mattered?, Christ, Blount smashed-mouthed them all game long and the Colts had no answer, I highly doubt under-inflated balls had anything to do with his success..

Everybody on earth pretty much feels the same way, which begs the question yet again of WHY are they cheating? They're good enough to win, why do they do things like this?

Anyway, I'm still not sold they were deflated on purpose. They need to find how it was done and who did it before I buy it. It was cold, and that's enough to change the pressure if the balls were filled at room temp. Probably happens all the time and nobody really notices.

Yeah, but the colts balls weren't deflated.
