im doing a report for school on cablemodem vs dsl...gotta compare the time value of money for each and stuff like that...
so i just wanted to do the survey so i can add it to the report...
if u have anything else u would like to contribute im open for suggestions

I see that most of yall chose cable.... is it because of the price or performance or both?

When I moved in with my mom and her husband, he got digital cable. Along with that, he got me a cable modem. Gotta love that cable modem!

cable=45 a month- 2 meg down/364k up
dsl=40 a month- 768k down/128k up

went with dsl because i dont want any slowdowns at peak hours, also my ping is VERY important because i only play online games, so i did not want to deal with high pings or whatever when the cable network got busy, so i went for the dsl which gave me a dedicated line, even though it's a bit slower than the cable line. oh well at least i dont have to worry about my pings going up when my neighbor starts downloading porn....hehe
