Both I had cable (@home) then they switched,

I got HUGE lag when gaming and Charter Said I couldn;t use my router and I was paying 50 bucks a month.

I called a local telco and was able to get DSL for 40 and they support my router, While Downloads are a little slower (not that I d/L alot) I have noticed the overall browsing is quicker. ( I had both connected for two weeks just to check it out) I got fewer time out errors and my latency was MUCH BETTER.

DSL only.

Given the choice id still choose cable. Too many horry stories with cable not to mention poor performance issues, cable companies going under, etc.

Cable and DSL are both available. I chose DSL because I didn't want to get the cable service offered by the cable co. which was required to get the cable modem.

I use Dish Network which is why I didn't want the cable.

Only DSL when I got it, but now both are available now.

I will stay with DSL for a while because of the price (got in on a deal so it is $39 a month) but someday I may try cable.
